Linda, I am still optimistic about coming, but can't commit, yet. I've had a good month, but I'm still conserving money. It's going to cost me at least a hundred bucks to fuel my tow vehicle for BB. And, if I get some business for that weekend, I have to take it.

If I do make it, as I hope to do, you won't have to come looking for me to collect money. I'll find you with cash in hand.

If I can't make it, someone will have to find this year's "puddin' head" and get the required photo of him/her.

Everyone, I'm going to start a Beavers Bend Saturday morning breakfast thread this evening after work. I'll attempt to make a list of who can bring what for the omlets in a bag.

Should be good food and a lot of fun making the omlets.

It's a requirement that last year's puddin' head be there to pass the spoon(s) to the new puddin' head.

That's fine, right now we have an open camp site. I am not giving it up to the park. I would hate for them to let a big rig come in and camp with us. If it fills up then you can double up with someone.
I understand about the funds. I hate to think what it's gonna cost us in gas but this is our " trip" for the year.
I hope ya can make it.

I am not feeling too good about my truck right now, so if I can't fabricate the frame hitch I pulled off my '71 Chevy Stepside before I sold it to attach to my 2000 Lincoln Town Car, I might have something for ya!! I don't know what it is really for since I had to fabricate it to match the truck but that is the project for this weekend, I'll send you the measurements and we could meet half way or something if you were serious!

The new Jewel Box will be there , but in the campable stage and will be lacking some "bling" but I'm okay with that. We will be doing some crunch time last minute work this week and next and plan on doing a LOT of relaxing at BB .

Spinnernut,

You're going to need to bring some firewood because the Silver Beatle will be at Beavers Bend.

It's not quite as far along as as the new Jewel Box but it is campable. I've got the cabinet cases, face frames, doors, and drawers built but not installed or finished. And I can't finish the electrical system until the cabinets are in place.

We will probably leave mid-morning Friday and arrive mid-afternoon. Like Thomas, I can't back the thing up worth a darn, so I'll need to recruit some volunteers to help me push it into place.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

You might try the pull straight in and park method and see if it fits you. For private solo camping I like to back in (and always seem to do great of course) but for Teardrop gatherings I just pull in because no one wants to see my truck , they want to see my teardrop. just personal style, something to kick around.

I am thinking the gas savings alone will pay for the new trailer hitch if I drive the car vs. the gas in my truck! Plus how cool would it be to see the town car towing the teardrop.
