Double YAY...

Last night, I finished the last few things left that were necessary to make our teardrop campable..:woohoo: :dancing

This weekend, I'm going to try to finish the tongue box and get it mounted and "Frankenstein" a temporary electrical system for the ceiling light and vent fan. (Keep your fire extinguishers handy.)

Tom - What I did in the Green lantern and Ladybug was to use a 110V desktop /spot light lamp with a switch built into the cord. It was safe and effective (that's what I'm using right now) I just hang it from a screw when I set up

You can use a cheap battery powered LED light for the ceiling light. I might have an extra for you.

Depending on the temps, you might not need your vent fan.

Hey everybody !

We are coming to our 1st B.B. and not sure exactly 'where' to go. By that I mean.....we have a map of the State park but what 'section' are we in?

Just curious about fishing as I(we) would like to try it..hopefully if we are close enough to the water ????

Any help appreciated on the 'section' we are all gathering at !

Looking forward to some R&R and seeing everyone, again !

Hey Greg, We are in the Buckeye campground.

Easy to find. Once you are in the park we are just down from the Convience Store. You will see a small playground and bathouse on the left, cabins on the right.
The Buckeye campground is below the bathouse and playground. When you turn in the camp host will come out of their trailer, just tell them you are with the teardrops (they will prob have already figured that out).

Sites are not assigned. They will all have "Modisette" on the clipboards. Just make the circle, pick out the spot you like, make the circle again, back in and set up camp.

IIRC, fishing is not allowed where we camp. But, you should not have to go far to go fishing. You will probably Need to get a fishing permit of some kind. I would suggest you check the Beavers Bend State Park website to see what you need, and where you can fish.

IIRC, there are some nice fishing spots just upstream from our campsite.

I almost hate to ask, but does anyone know if there is a burn ban in place at Beavers Bend?

If not, I plan to bring a couple of small firewood bundles and two containers of wood scraps from the build.

Take care,
Tom

Beavers Bend is in the far SE county of Oklahoma ... Looks like it's NOT under a burn ban.

http://www.forestry.ok.gov/burn-ban-information

*** I just called the park, they are in McCurtain county NO BURN BAN right now . The county to the north, LeFlore is under a ban.

Central Oklahoma is still under a burn ban.... last weekend about 59 houses/buildings were burned down and much more acreages. From Norman to Harrah, with Harrah having 30 of those . Kenny lives about 2 miles from one of the bad fire spots. whew!!!

I'll be sure and throw in some firewood as well as wood scraps from my shop.

I sure hope the weather is nice next weekend as this weekend. We deserve it.
