And I'm in #9 for Friday and Saturday. So from the sites that were left available to me when I made my reservation the other day.... that should leave Sites 1, 3, 7 and 67 empty; but the map shows somebody in 7, so she may have mis-quoted the available sites.

As soon as the "stray" normal campers that have accidentally made reservations find out what's happening around them they may either join in or change their minds- don'tcha want to see the look on their faces.

Can't see the looks on their faces--they never come out of their mega RV's!
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Ah, the alligator talk has begun.

They are some in the waters there, but you won't see them with all the noise and commotion we people make. At best, if you are patient and quiet, you will see some eyes and nostrils poke up out of the water. They really don't want to be seen, so you have to work at it to see one.

They don't mess with people unless you wander near their nesting area. Otherwise, you are too big to eat, so they don't waste their energy on you.

However, I would keep the dogs on a leash.

When I lived down on the gulf coast, we would go to a hunting camp in the swamps around Sabine Pass to duck-hunt. At the end of the day, we'd sit on the bank near the water, sit very still, and wait very quietly. After a while, you would see eyes and noses pop up out of the water. Soon, you'd be looking at about a dozen snouts of gators who were looking at you from about 20 feet away. Move, and they disappear. Pretty cool sight.

Hey MJ I have been trying to get it worked out for a guy to cover for me at work so i can make this trip... I really really REALLY want to go and I hope for this to be the maiden voyage of the Lil' Caj-Inn. I mean what better way could you think of to break in the little trailer than a good ole Cochon de Lait with good folks.. You think i should get one of those last spots or just show up. I had not gotten a spot yet because there is still a chance i might not be able to make it..
