Annalbs , Love some good "Tater Salad". :thumbsup:
I get hungry every time I read this thread.
Theres something about camp cooking that just makes it taste even that much better.
Sounds like we have alot of good cooks in the group.
Amy may cook some Boudin stuffed Chicken. mmmm that stuff is good.

I might wake up with a beer when I am camping, and be sipping all day, but I will definitely pass on the Tequila tasting! I will go for the tater salad though big time!

No need to double up just yet, site 9 is now available. Had fond hopes of having my tear ready but it won't be. Even building under a shade tree, the heat has slowed me down. Still planning on Beavers Bend though!

I'm sure Tony will have the RitaRator.

Butch,

You can still tent camp. Right now I'm only about 50-50 of the teardrop being finished for LCG V, but we'll be there in a tent if not.

BTW, post a few build pictures when you can.

Tom;
I thought of tent camping, for a few minutes. I would have to buy the tent and stuff, and the money would be better spent on the tear. There is a remote possibility it will be done by then, but only if I spend all of my money on the build. No brainer! There are a couple of nice campgrounds within 50 miles of me when I am ready.
I do have some photo's in my album. I have no idea how to post them, which is a lot of why there is no build journal. That, and the fact that mine is very basic, and compared to many, downright primitive. But I do expect to be at Beavers Bend.

Butch, if you really want to come and tent camp, I think there are enough used-to-be tent campers to supply the gear. I still have a tent, sleeping bag and probably an air mattress that is available if you want to attend.

I have an excellent quality 7X7 tent you can borrow. It's been everywhere from LCG3 to the top of Mount Rainier. You can even pitch it in my campsite. It's not tall enough to stand in, but neither is a teardrop. :lol:

Jeff & CD;
I should't be surprised at your offers, but it did catch me a little off guard. Though I don't post often (yet I basically live here), this what keeps me on the forum. Of course, the trailers aren't bad either.
If there is any way I can pull it off, I'll take one of you up on your kind offer. Thanks to you both.

Hang around, it gets even better. The first gathering we attended, we were just lookers, we were invited for breakfast and pot-luck dinner. I had only been on the forums for a short period and this really surprised me. I have never met a more friendly and helpful bunch of folks anywhere.
If you or anyone else wants to come to the gathering, just ask, I'll bring the tenting gear and you can share my site.

Butch,

Your teardrop is looking great. I love the profile! :thumbsup: :applause: :thumbsup:

I'd lend you our tent, but it is looking more like we'll need it. I'll let you know as we get closer to the event. Looks like there are plenty of others that have tents available.

Tom;
I know I can always count on you for a kind word. The profile was about the best I could come up with 1 sheet of plywood. Thankfully the photo's of the profile don't allow for a close up of the construction details.
I would tell you about the "extra" wall, but it's just as well not to go too far into that. My brother and I are still friends, so what's a sheet of plywood? Besides, it's two old guys, working under a tree in his back yard with basic tools and a couple of sawhorses. I'm not calling this so much a "prototype" as "proof of concept". If I actually use it very much, there's always #2.
My hope is to be able to make it, but it will be a little while before I can be sure. I don't really mind borrowing a tent for the weekend (foolish for an old guy), it would be well worth it.

Lester (deepvee) currently has site 21 reserved for LCG. But his plans have changed and he will be taking a winter family vacation instead. The site is paid for so he is wanting to give it to someone that may need help or that is doubled up on a site. If you are interested, give me a shout and I will forward his contact info to you. Thanks
