Wilderness City in Silver Dollar City.
I could not find operating hours or a schedule for the month of December.
Does anyone know or could check with them about this. The lights and shows are Great during the early part of December.

This is about 1-1/2 hours south of Kansas City and about 1-1/4 hours North of Joplin. They are open year round. Might take a look at this and see what you think. :)

K I called a bunch of places and this one sounds the most accommodating. They are real excited about having us as a group. The Owner says they can let us use the club house FREE and they showers/bathrooms are heated and recently remodeled.

They camp a lot and have even been to Minden.

As much as I would love to go to Silver Dollar City I can't even get a call back from them. Oh and they have miniature golf. Ft Scott and Precious Moments are both less than 30 minutes away too.

We'd like to go but it's questionable. We probably won't know till the last minute. If the stars and moon and sun and universe are all in alignment, we might be there. :) I'm hoping we'll make it!

Which weekend?? It would be nice if I could attend this one, since I had to miss out on the big birthday bash in the swamp this year.

:o Ok how about Friday, 30th, Sat. 1 and leave on Sunday the 2. That will give Del time to get down and not interfere with the Texas gathering on the next weekend. I will go up on Friday and Mike is taking off a half day too.

See ya there.

:applause: :applause: :applause: The campground doesn't anticipate being occupied over night this time of year so we might have it to ourselves. All sites have grills, but if it is real cold out the club house has cooking facilities. 8)

Count me in.

After the long drive down to LCG from KC, a trip to Ft Scott/Nevada will be a weekend jaunt.

Mike and Auntie Em, I was sorry that you weren't able to come to the LCG. I've enjoyed your posts and the obvious affection you have for your fellow TDrs. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Thank you Bill! We will look forward to meeting you too. Same for the rest of you. You must be the guy with a jeep our campground owner saw heading North yesterday. I gave him the website.

I might even work up the energy to finish mine. :)

Hi All,

Unfortunately, Denice and I will not be able to make it this time. :(

That is the Friday Denice has her carpal tunnel surgery scheduled. The good news is that she has already had it on the other hand and it went very well.

Be sure to take lots of pictures and tell us all about the outing. :) I hope we can make it next time.

All the best...

Aunti M, thanks for checking into this! if Kathy and I can get that Friday off, we will be there as well if this comes together.

I know you said they had grills, but are there fire pits in each site? or are those hook-your-own-propaine-up grills? I looked on the site but couldn't get an answer.

It would be reallllllly nice to meet some of the folks we haven't met yet - and some old friends too!

We're going to Kansas City this weekend and will drive right past the park in Nevada. We plan on stopping there so if anyone has any other questions we'll try to answer them.

So far we have grills, fire pit, side by side parking, any other questions?
