Well.....we weren't going to say anything in case we couldn't make it. (Some of you know how crazy our life is right now!) Anyway, I have reserved site 23. Being a little closer to the bathroom and a little farther from the water seemed like a good idea with a 3 year old.

I haven't been to this area, but I know that across the lake is a place called Caney Creek resort. Also Caney Creek Marina, Yacht Club, and Caney Creek Volunteer Fire Department. So check those directions before you head out! It's not too far out of the way, but who wants to back track when there is fun waiting!

Looks like we miss out again. We will be in Colorado with the MINI's. Sure hate to miss camping with you all but this is a yearly thing we do. Have a great time! We will be in the mountains so it will be cool and probably get snowed on.

Julie,

Well, after many phone calls and a lot of time, we reach a settlement with the other party's insurance company. My blue truck ended up with $14,779.38 worth of damage. So much for just pulling the door out , eh Danny!

As a result, we went out and picked up a new one

Now, with the insurance all settled and a new truck, we are ready to camp. Kerry and I will be in site 24.

Look forward to seeing everyone.

I'm up early and will be busy out with yard stuff today and might have that sinus crap from yesterday flare up again today, but we'll take food and directions here later.

It's just three weeks away !!!!

Well, it's been hotter than a cat on a hot tin shack here in central Oklahoma lately... finally hitting 100* or so this weekend (once it's past 98* does it matter the number???)

Anyhoo... for kicks and giggles , I checked Accuweather.com for the nearest city , Kingston, OK for next weekend, Aug 1 and it says 95* and 98* and then for OUR weekend Aug 8-10 it shows
Highs of 94*, 93*, and 96* with lows of 71* and 68* and actually says humid and chance of rain Sunday NIGHT.

So ... DON'T LET THAT STOP YOU ... I don't like the miserable heat at all but I love camping with my teardrop friends and I haven't been camping at all since April ....I miss you all !!!!! so now that I have the Jewel Box back and some new color I can't wait to go to the lake !!!

Food? Well, just a random potluck sounds good to me... If anyone can post what they think they might bring or make that's always helpful. I think I will go ahead and plan on doing a big batch of drumsticks on the grill if Dave & Cindy don't plan on burning a bird. Otherwise I'll grill corn on the cob.

DIRECTIONS:
Okay... I'm going to call the park office tomorrow and make sure about getting to the park from Kingston, OK . The Reserve America directions say one thing but my maps & streets says another so I want to make sure how the road is marked.

from Denison TX take 69 north to Durant, then Hwy 70 about 20 miles west to Kingston, OK

from I-35 near Ardmore, OK take Hwy 70 about 30 miles thru Madill and then south to Kingston, OK

I'll make sure of which road to take south out of Kingston. One place says it's Donahoo Rd, my map shows Muncrief Rd (N3540 Rd.)
