We will probably be there on Thursday night and try to get a pull-thru so we can double up.

I'll be bowing out of the Beaver's Bend trip. The passing of my dependable SUV, my tow vehicle, marks a good time for me to sit out the season and concentrate my energy toward some the things that I have on my plate. I don't plan on replacing it right away...besides that I don't even know whether I want another SUV or a sedan that pull a tear. I have been visiting the Poll thread, "What do you tow with?"

I know you all will have a great time at BB! :D

Todah, you could always pick up one of these for a tow vehicle. It'd be good for some envious looks at the office as well.

Thanks guys. I am going to miss you all very much. Well with a truck like this, I wouldn't have to "tow". I could just "carry" my tear  Right now, I'm driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse...and it doesn't have a tow hook. I like the Dodge Chargers...but is it really a lady's car?

Yes, it's going to be a tuff row to hoe because teardropping is adictive.

I just got my estimate back from the insurance maufia and I'm going to have to insist on a itemized account of how the came up with the figure that they did. I wasn't trying to make a killing, but I did expect to get it's value. I've got transportation, so I'm not desparate to close quickly.

Hey Pat,

I took an un-official survey of some of my co-workers (all of whom were men), unanimously they favored the Challenger over the Charger...(Dukes of Hazzard bias most likely :) ). If I ever have to run from Boss Hogg and Ennis, the Hemi will certainlly come in handy....'a-gu-gu-goo!

Well, I'll be the different one then. I like the lines of the Charger better. And since I get to drive one from time to time, I love the way it drives. The Hemi is scary fast. One thing that is a pain for for tall people like me (6'3") is that the windshield comes down a little low and makes it difficult to see traffic lights if you are right at an intersection. Should not be a problem for shorter people though. And they make a really cool looking police car :R

Hey Planovet (Citizen On Patrol), your statement explains a mystery. I had seen some ads on Vehix that said the Charger was "Police" something or other. Those one's must have been configured for the police, maybe has more horsepower and a partician between the frt and back seat...could come in handy if the owner wants to moonlight as a taxi driver (hummm, 2nd income! :applause: )

As a short person, In the past, I found that the way that they mount the traffice lights in downtown Dallas make it difficult to see them....particullarly on the northbound one-way section of Elms street. Some of them used to be mounted on a post on the sidewalk of intersections.

All police cars are also normal cars you can buy off the lot (Crown Victoria, Impala, Tahoe, Charger). Most departments buy the cars with a "police package". The police package adds special heavy duty components for the engine, wheels, transmission, suspension, brakes, electrical system, cooling system, interior, and others parts of the car. The bad guy's car might accelerate better and have a higher top speed, but the police package car would have its own advantages. Its heavy duty equipment means the police car would out handle and out last the bad guy's car (most times). Also, most police cars are driven 24/7 so they take a lot of abuse. I would not buy a used police car unless it had very low milage.

BTW, I'm not a Citizen on Patrol. We have those in Irving and they are called ICOPs. They are volunteer ununiformed citizens that help out patrol. I'm a Reserve Police Officer. I'm a fully certified Texas Peace Officer with a badge and a gun (scary isn't it). I have all the same powers as a full time officer, I just don't get paid (Cindi thinks I'm crazy).

* Well, that does it! Charger it is :D

** No offense intended by the C.O.P comment. My hat is off to you for volunteering, especially in a world where people want to get paid for everything, less dangerous things than being a police.
