LCGIV the NUCLEAR OPTION

...the NUCLEAR OPTION is in play...the water will not crest at Bistineau until Thur with little or no drop until next week or later...this puts the entrance road under a foot+ of water and all the lower sites and possibly the lower loop road will be under as well...we cannot even get to the rally site....SOOOOO, we are moving LCGIV to Lake Claiborne State Park http://www.crt.state.la.us/Parks/iCLAIBORN.aspx I have talked to the folks at Lake Claiborne and as off this morning, they had 54 sites available and was told we could double up or even triple up and they would do all they could do to accommodate us...I know this is not what was planned but sometimes when handed lemons, you can make some mighty fine lemonade and I intend that to be the case with this move...so don't you dare cancel...just come to Claiborne and we will teach them folks all about teardrops...

Because this is an unprecedented event, the park management is not sure how to handle reservations...they are attempting to just get them all transferred to Claiborne so all we need is name and reservation number but this is not assured yet...at worst, all our reservations would be canceled, moneys credited back to whatever card was used and then it would be first come first served at Claiborne...I am working closely with David at Bistineau on this and will have more specific info latter on the resolution of the reservations......we are the SOUTHCENTRALTEARS...which means we are tough and resilient and can make this happen...see ya there

MJ, at the very least, they need to hold those 54 empty spaces for our group, whether or not they transfer the money. We can arm wrestle for spaces when we get there, but with our own people. We shouldn't have to "first-come-first-serve" with the general public, eh?

DAMN! That means we have to share the park--with RV's. I hate to show me prejudice, but those luxo-cave dwellers freak me out.

Just kidding--I know we will have them run off by Friday noon!

My suggestion for what it is worth--let MJ deal with the park and reservation issue first, and let him choose the best party location site before everyone jumps on ReserveAmerica for the great land grab. If people start reserving sites, that will make MJ's work far more complicated. Patience grasshoppers (and that includes me!).
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Agreed MJ is THE MAN !!! Let him do what he's doing ... talking to the park about transferring it all or whatever.

If we all show up , we'll just tell 'em who's boss !!!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

PUHLEZE WAIT...I am currently dealing with management at both parks and the State reservations systems to work this out for everyone's benefit...if you look at the campground map of Claiborne, there are two loops...available sites are fairly evenly spread out between the two...most of the water front sites are already reserved, probably by land yachits but we can deal with them...I hope to have more info available soon but the folks at Lake Claiborne are very happy and looking forward to having us invade them and have offered us ALL of their available facilities to accommodate us...stay tuned for updates BUT change your heading to Lake Claiborne State Park.........

OK, here is the "Official" deal...the reservation system is in the process of canceling ALL RESERVATIONS for Lake Bistineau...refunds will be credited to your credit card or???...YOU DO NOT NEED TO CANCEL YOUR LAKE BISTINEAU RESERVATION...this will be done automatically(and at no charge) for you...call 1-877-226-7652 to make a reservation at Lake Claiborne...you will havvta pay for this reservation just like you would normally but your Bistineau fees should be automatically credited back to you...we have limited number of sites available and will havvta double on most of them to fit everybody...should make things cozier and even more fun as we havvta rely on each other even more than usual...please call and reserve a new site at Claiborne so as to keep any further "civilians" from beating us to the punch...I have reserved site #39 in area 4, there is supposed to be a pavillion and fire rings available to us at that site so it will become the party site as well...if you call and there are no spots left, comeon down anyway...tell park management you are with the teardrop group and will be doubling with someone else...they may charge you a daily admittance fee but will only charge once per site for the normal fees regardless of doubling or not...both Parks and the reservation people are aware of the situation and are bending over to help us out so be polite and I will see ALL OF YOU at Claiborne.....
