Wow, that's alot of guys with firewood! Do you think I even need to go buy some more with all that coming? I actually have a dead tree that I cut down a couple weekends ago that I can cut up and bring. I think I'll do that, it will be a decent amount.

I think burgers and dogs sounds good to me. Fish fry sounds REAL good but I don't have any tools for that I think. I do have my chili pot but I would need guidance, willing to pick up a couple of packs of catfish tho!

I agree Thomas, the burgers and dogs are fine, the fish fry would be little more work (but when has that stopped any of us), and as you say sounds REAL good. I have a turkey fryer I could bring for a fish fry if that is what the group decides. Sure there are a couple other people with fryers too, this is the South Central afterall, we fry everything!! Just visit the Texas State Fair! 8)

My wife Kerry makes up some good cole slaw that would go with either menu, be it burgers and dogs or the fish.

James, If we can count on ya to bring the fryers and the oil or whatever makes that machine GO, not to mention your expertise, and someone ELSE brings the stuff to batter them and cook em up, I can split with one or two people on bringing all the fish to fry! I think that would be cool, and make this a unique event!

Off the cuff, I'm thinking with 9 teardrops on the list, rounding up to 10 and 2 people per teardrop, and 2 fillets each that is 40 fillets. Divide by 3 people and that is 13 fillets ea rounding up again to 14ea for extras and kids. Others can supply the usual side dishes and assorted goodies! Sound OK?

Whew my head hurts haha...

Better yet, we will furnish the fish and cook them and every body else can handle the fixings. If that is ok with everyone.

As I said earlier, we'll bring some coleslaw and a dessert. Heck, think I might even bring some malt vinegar!

Wow James! Thank you sir! you will be the star of the pot luck! I'll think of something to bring then! I was thinking breakfast stuff, but I never get up until it is just about over. I like sleeping late when I am on vacation :) So I will think about the dinner pot luck ;)

heheh well I do have the lid still LOL Man that box lit up like a roman candle once it caught! My truck bed is getting full but I'm still gonna buy some logs too.

What the heck can I bring food-wise? Any idea? What goes with a fish fry? Maybe I can contribute to the cost of the main dish?
