I quoted you Stacy but forgot to comment! I meant to say that I didn't know they would do it that way, it makes sense!

It will be good to see you guys! You were the talk of the gathering at cleburne because the loop was full and then we saw a Cassita drive by and we thought it was you! I drove by but no one was outside so I didn't knock in case you were sleeping and others drove by with mixed responses on if it was you or not, but then we finally got confirmaiton because Woddy recognized that it wasn't your mini van and Greg and I drove by and there were finally people outside. but they waved, at least they were friendly so we didn't pelt them with water balloons! but you guys were quite the mystery for a while!

Wife and I are new to this forum and to teardroppin. We just bought a CampInn 560 and live in Austin. We might be interested in joining as well if this is an open invitation.

capnTelescope wrote: I couldn't understand why you didn't just tell us your campsite number :? , until I made my reser. You don't get to pick your campsite number. Is this typical for Texas state parks? As long as they don't put me in a swamp, it's OK.

Anyway, I'm in for Thursday to Sunday. See y'all then!

I beleive it is standard for all Texas State Parks to not be able to reserve a specific site until you arrive. I would presume that it would give everyone a fair chance at the "good" sites and prevent one person from monopolizing a certain site. It used to confound me how everyone could always get together when you can't choose your site until you get there but amazingly it always works out!

What usually happens is that the first one there tells the Ranger how many of us are going to be there together and they block out spaces.
I got our reservations for Pedernales on Thurs, and Friday. We will head on home after pot luck on Saturday. We will be be in Big Spring for the weekend prior and at Balmorhea on Monday to Wednesday.
Making a long week of it.

OK. We will be there. I am generally pretty swamped with work and have to travel a lot so I need to keep Sunday afternoon open in case I have to fly somewhere therefore, we are only able to make it for Friday and Saturday and leave on Sunday but we got our reservations in today.

There were 31 spots left.
