Julie,

Are you on medication for that stuttering?
Chris :D

:applause: Yes, you'll pay when you get there. I had talked to the manager, and even tried to tell him I could pay for the first night for everybody like we did at Beavers Bend but he said he couldn't do that. And *guaranteed* me a minimum of ten spaces.

We can talk potluck , etc when it gets closer!!

Thanks everybody!!!

:D

Julie, this is awesome! This will be our first Teardrop Gathering. I just know that this is a GREAT group...Can't wait to meet everyone! :shake hands:

YES YES YES

Some of us have met before, but we'll still be gawking over our teardrops and such anyway.

When it gets a little closer, we'll talk about doing potluck Saturday night. Also about who might be getting there when, I am hoping to leave that morning, if not the day before. Some might want to 'caravan' haha

Hope everybody's have a good summer so far! I'm in on the Knob Noster, MO campout now but unless I get a lot done this weekend, I'lll be tenting :( but I'll survive.

Just to let you know... I am going to the Missouri campout this weekend and leaving as early as I can Friday and will make a turn off to see the Bernice State Park and what the campsites look like. I'll let ya know .

If I had my teardrop in tow, I'd be itching to leave Thursday night knowing I could just park, jump in - sleep - jump out, and leave again! hahaha

Okay, y'all..... I drove thru Bernice St Park and Honey Creek St Park last Sunday afternoon. I'm not sure if either one of these is quite what we/you would like. So I want your input , either here or PM.

Bernice SP - easy to get too but RIGHT off the main road. Half the elec spots are right in the sun, without very much shade. Other spots are in pretty good shade. Pads are concrete. Bath house was great, grills are up not on the ground. Beach area is right there, and good view of lake/water.... low water fishing area and bridge just 1/4 mile away.
I can see why the manager said we might be the only ones at the park because the swim area is right there and not much swimmers after Labor Day. Pelican festival is not till 2 weeks later.

I thought Honey Creek would be better, it's by Grove OK but it's very hilly, and even in my Honda Accord, I could tell it would be tight trying to back up a td in there. Blacktop pads, but where about 6 pads were it is very hilly and I can't see it being very good to have 20 people sitting around the campfire because of the slope. Then another 6 or 8 pads up the hill, but it would be a steep walk between them . Water is nearby but a drop off, can't get to it right there. The other section sorta on the other side of the office, those pads are concrete and it's by the pool and office , and there are residence just a block or so away from the office. I didn't really care for this park for a group like ours.

So this week I'm off work and I think I'll take my 16 yr old with me to go drive up and check out the Little Blue and the Cherokee parks down on the south end of the lake. And also maybe look at some that are listed as "private " parks.

Just want y'alls opinion of what you think is important for a group our size.

thanks !!!

Julie,

Thanks for scouting things out. Here's my 2 cents. For a trailer novist like myself, having to do a lot of tricky manuevering around slopes may take some of the fun out of the trip. I do plan on practicing getting the trailer to go in the direction, at least within the first 3 tries  ,when I back up long before this trip.

...but the whole manueverability thing may be an issue if we are trying to squeeze in tight and there are a lot of us newbies.

Thanks for the input!!! ANY Place with all of y'all would be fun no matter what!!! Honey Creek is out... too steep, too tight,
I looked at one listed as "a resort" but has rv pads ... it's really nice, but $27 a night! Too much for me.

I think Bernice SP will be alright after all, I'll check again during the week, it was hard to walk around and snoop when soooo many people were there on Sunday. They do have a fishing bridge and an 88 acre park with a long walking trail, nature center and apparently a wildlife feeding area.

ps... did I mention? Got home from work Monday and the ebay-er sent me two new door locks! woohoo!

Jewel, is there anything on the Missouri side? I grew up in Seneca, but haven't been back since 1973.

I was wondering how many folks are coming that are dutch oven cookers? That would be fun at our evening meal! Maybe we could have a dutch oven cook off.
