Central Texas Gathering, Inks Lake State Park, Nov 16-18th

Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Arkansas & Oklahoma

Was thinking about doing some recon this weekend. Don't know how the roads are though. Marble Falls which is near the park, had some flooding problems this week.

I don't think it will fill up, Nov is getting on the edges of camping season. Plus, it's not like it is a holiday weekend or anything.

Well, it seems the poll has run long enough, and the dates are November 16,17, and 18th. Now everyone that plans to attend needs to make a reservation. Do it ASAP.

There has been lots of rain and flooding up in that area of Texas (Marble Falls not too far from the park got 19 inches a couple of days ago) so I will check with the park directly to find out what the conditions are. Hopefully, there won't be any problem four and a half months from now.

AGAIN, MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW!

OK, our reservations are made. They won't allow specific sites to be chosen over the net, but I hope to be able to get that done later with the local park management.

Make your reservations everyone! :chicken:

What loop/area did you make the reservation for? I guess it doesn't matter since you can take any vacant spot once you get there.

Marble Falls got 19inches in 24hours. can you say, Flash Flood?

Rocky,

You are right, you cannot specify a site, but I liked the loop looking on the map that was in the 230 to 250 numbers. However, that was just from the map.

The important thing right now is to get a reservation.

May I make a suggestion that the person who organizes this gathering find out if the campground will let them specify a block of sites at the time that they check (The block size would at the very least would cover everyone who has indicated in thread that they have paided in full.)

The specific assignments (w/in the block of sites) can be made by the individual camper when he/she checks in OR the organizer can pre-assign sites at check-in based on the order in which people have responded in this thread that they have paid. That will help to make site assignments fair (first to pay, first to get assigned). In either case, we teardroppers who arrive later can just ask which block has been assigned and go from their.

Just a suggestion :D

Todah Tear,

I plan to do that just as soon as we have an idea of how many are coming. At this time I'm afraid they would not take me seriously if I called and said we have three with reservations, more are coming, but I don't know how many more. Additionally, with the amount of rain they had this week, they are at least dealing with a major cleanup right now.

Where are you guys making reservations from. I tried to make a reservation from the Inks Lake site, and I keep getting a cabin. I even searched where you put in that you need electric and water, blah, blah, and it says nothing available. I must be real stupid or something.
Someone give me a tip please. I was just going to wait and call them Monday.

It kept defaulting to a cabin for me too. I had to keep clicking around till the sites showed up. Something like "Show all sites" or something like that.
