We were going to bring a bunch of shrimp and have a shrimp boil Saturday night, but going out is fine.

If ya'll want to do the shrimp boil I'll bring everything to do it. Everybody else would only have to bring bread or desserts. Or we could do it Friday night I just need to know how many people are going to be there Friday night so I know how much shrimp to bring.

You guys need to jump on this. A good ole coonass shrimp boil is good eating. Yum!

And, Gulf shrimp is the best, IMO.

Yes!!!
This is our favorite at the beach. and easy to make in a crawfish pot.
Fresh gulf shrimp, taters, corn on the cob, mushrooms and andouille sausage all boiled in a good cajun crab boil. :R

Cindy

Macy and I are up for going out Saturday night. Whatever the group wants to do.
I just said hello to newbie "Jesse" who just happens to be from Matagorda, Tx. Invited him and his wife to join us for pot luck. I had not read all the posts before sending him an invitation. He and his wife can still come out and see our tears and go out to eat with us if we do not do the pot luck.

Well, while i am making great progress on the teardrop, it is not going to be campable by this gathering either  I still am going to head down there for sure once it is rolling, so I am still grateful for discovering this place through you guys!

PS: I don't camp without the tear

Y'all have fun!

Well is everybody ready to go?????
Sherri just reminded me
If you are going to drive on the beach you have to have a beach pass. You do not need one in the park but the beach is right next to it.Last time I was there a beach pass was $5 You can get one at the store at 60 & 2031

Also if you plan to fish, even in the river you have to have a saltwater stamp on your fishing license.

If you need bait there are a couple of bait shops on 2031 right before the intercoastal waterway.

We have the tear ready and Sherri is packing as I type.
We are ready to go.

We will boil a shrimp boil and keep it warm in an ice chest on Friday. So anybody coming in Friday night just stop by and we'll feed you.

See ya this weekend.

I'm so ready but still trying to get more varnish on. This rain is killing me.I took this Thrus. off so I'm hoping to get more things done on my tear.I need one good day with no rain. That darn cat of mine is putting more holes in my tent shelter where I'm building my tear.So I'm still trying to get it campable. If not we will be bringing our popup trailer. Earl got Friday off so we'll be there Friday. I can't wait.See ya. :) Peg

Sounds like a nice size group going to the Beach........

I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL weekend.

I'm not feeling sorry for myself because I'm packing for the IRG 2.0 trip next week and Charles is trying to finish up the new build.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the Birthday folks.

Don't forget your sunscreen.

Happy Birthday Cindy! Unlike Linda, I am feeling sorry for myself because I can't be there. We had already made plans to be in Wisconsin at the race track with the MINI's. It won't be like camping with the TD's but guess we will have a good time. This has been planned for the past year. Last year we got to drive on the Indianapolis 500 track, quite a thrill. I know you will have a great time as usual. Everyone who is celebrating a birthday, congratulations. Don't forget pics, if I can't be there I want to see what I missed.

As much as I've been looking forward to this trip, there's just no way I'll be able to make it. The Mental Floss is actually campable (WOO HOO!!), but family stuff and unexpected home repairs are killing my free time and my bank account... :?

I hope everyone has a GREAT time and SAFE travels!
(and take lots of pics...)

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

We don't want to wait until October to see the Floss!
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Macy's efforts to get a sub for Friday have fallen through. We will be leaving Friday around 2 PM which will have us arriving after 10 PM on Friday.
We have paid for Thursday night and our reservations are through Sunday night.
Cindy, please do not let them give our spot away. We will pay early Saturday morning.
Thanks
Looking forward to some down time.

Packing up

Postby Cindy » Wed Jul 09, 2008 7:21 pm

Ok, to those who cannot go, I'm sorry :( To those who will be there with us :)
I finally got through and the guy said there were going to be 11 spaces of us but the best I can count is 6. I don't know who those others are but we should have plenty of room. He said the park is not crowded at all. We are getting there late on Thursday and will get all the sites marked.

See you there.

We will be traveling to Rockport Saturday morning, and would love to stop by and meet everyone and check out all the teardrops.
Unfortunately we just started our build so we won't be able to camp :(
