I remember our first LCG – we showed up – potluck was just that – simple name tags, maybe if you caught Tonyj at a certain time he’d show you da’ margarita machine – Dave would leave the horror video on for those who would pass by, if you woke up early enough you’d catch breakfast with Gary and Trudy– all simple stuff, As for Me – this is my break away from work and I plan to have FUN time and if plans don’t work out so what – It’s LCG? We’re here for whatever LCG takes us and to meet some new friends. If you’re a first timer – welcome and memories will be made ;)

HAHA :D Exactly , Scott ! And setting up and looking at the Halloween decorations, doing a little trick or treating ... I'm not planning to bring a ton of decorations this year... can only pack so much in the car and it's a lot of work... but I will have a little fun stuff and some treats for those in 'costume' . I hope to keep things simple, and have a relaxing but FUN weekend. And definitely bring your bikes or skateboards... it's a chore just walking around and seeing everyone!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

:envious: :envious: :envious: At that price I could get really sick from eating too much.

Get a tent or something to sleep in and stay the night. You will want to stay longer.

hmmm...trick or treating??? should I get shot glasses and tequilla or schnapes for anyone knocking at my TD? That way you don't have to sort thru the candy at the end of the trail. You would be doing good to find the end of the trail. hehe

Unfortunately, Sarah and I won't have our TD done in time, so we won't be able to make it. However, if you're in the neighborhood you definitely ought to go. We crashed Spinnernuts Guadalupe Adventure last month for a few hours one evening and had a great time! The folks there were really friendly and were very helpful in showing off their beautiful creations! This site has a TON of info and I've had a lot of help from reading the posts here.

But nothing does it justice like going and seeing these trailers in person and talking with the people that built them. It was sensory overload, I got so much more info seeing these TDs in person. I highly recommend a visit!

BTW, how much does the head on the shrimp weigh? For example, if you get 5# of shrimp off the boat, then de-head them do you end up with 3#? Or 2-1/2#?

i definately have a tent....thats how i been camping all of my life!! im 37 and never slept in a rv....but im outdoorsy anyway... i might try to ride up...how much does it cost to camp there?? are there places to tent camp available??

you know....i really have no clue about the head on a shrimp....i would say a 1/4 of its weight if had to guess....so say maybe 5 lbs of shrimp would yield 3 1/2 - 4 pounds of peeled....ill have to think about that one....lol i will say 5 pounds of shrimp goes a long way feeding people, though....16/20 count means 16 - 20 shrimp make a pound...10/15's would be bigger, 21/25's would be smaller... i prefer 41/50's for frying....16/20's for boiling or grilling ....

Man I got to this party late... But I am willing and able to help in anyway I can MJ... Life has been a little crazy for me as of late... I got transferred to Africa with my job and have not been able to spend as much time as I would like to on the Forum.. If you want I can call in a few favors and see what the price for something fresh off the boats would be.. Just drop me an Email and let me know.. I should be back in the states around Oct. the 11th just in time for LCG.. :)

I am definitely willing to help out also! Just let me know! I won't be able to partake in any of the drinking festivities due to the fact that I'm expecting a little LBS come April but I am more than ready to do some dancing and shooting balloons at "no one in particular"  MJ if you want me to throw together some potato salad for Friday nite I can make a batch... I don't know if it will be enough to feed 250 but I'll do what I can. Can't wait to see everyone again! Just got through telling Eddie that I'm taking off work Friday so we can come up Thursday and my work will just have to understand that teardropping at LCG comes first LOL :R 8)

Thanks, Julie! I wanna go so bad...

I promised Sarah we wouldn't go camping until the TD is finished! Why did I ever do that?! I am, however making quite a bit of progress! We'd definitely like to make it there with our finished trailer. I promise I'll do the best that I can to get it finished as soon as possible!
