Anyway I was looking to make trips to Galveston in it so this would be a great launching trip if ya'll would have me.

Space should not be an issue. C'mon down.

Now that this little campout has grown in numbers, are the Smelley's still planning on attending?

Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

If not, I'm sure they will have no problem leaving the keys to the beach house with me.

What could possibly go wrong?

(actually, if we keep Eddie properly lubricated, I think he's be fine with 100 campers)

I think space issues might be relieved a bit because some people will camp on the beach and others will prefer to stay on pavement. I can't wait for the photo. Thanks for hosting us!

Pavement spots at the house are limited, and should probably go first to folks who need them, for physical reasons.

There are still a few slabs and empty grass lots around the Smelley's house, but not sure whether his next-door neighbors' slabs are still open for use.

We'll figure it out. There is no lack of open, campable space.

I wouldn't mind staying on the beach but what are the rules? Generators allowed?

I don't know if there's a legal problem with generators, or Eddie's feeling on it, but the other campers might not like it. Just thinking it might spoil some of the serenity of camping on a quiet beach. (Firepit conversations not withstanding). It might depend on how close you were but we would hope we're all somewhat together. The weather should be nice that time of year so heating and cooling shouldn't be needed. It's not my gig, just some thoughts.

Good Point. I was just wondering. I think a quick turn of the car motor will charge up the system anyway. So really I wouldn't need one but thought maybe there might be use for one. I'm still in the precess of building so LED's are most efficient. Gas for the stove and water heater and electronics will be 12vdc so should be fine. Should I bring Fire wood? I love the smell of mesquite burning.

There will definitely be fire and all firewood is welcome especially if it is pleasant smelling! I have a quarter cord in my truck, who knows how long that will last, my plate is pretty full now, so my camping might be sparse this March. The only thing I have scheduled is Beaver's Bend so I might have some still come April, just have to see but yeah firewood=good!

Looking forward to hanging out, and if you need anything, you are never left out in the cold at a gathering, all us guys (and gals) are really willing to help. Teardroppers are a very friendly bunch!

I think Spinnernut is working on a generator that can power several TDs.

You shouldn't need AC to sleep at night, so we can probably turn off the generator in the late evening. The first row of beach houses were not allowed to rebuild after Ike, so the idea was to put the generator on that side of the "dunes" and put something around it to cut back on noise.

You know a foam box might help. Still breathable and reduces noise a lot. I had a line on some good generators but store closed before I could get one. Anyway looking forward to the trip and hope everyone has a great time.
