We did potlucks BOTH Friday and Saturday night last year ....

What's the plan this time?? Only Saturday? Or is my memory fading....

...the first sign of aging is CRS...if you recall I(my crew and I) fed everyone on Fri...there were a few other side dishes brought over and hopefully a few as well this year...I will probably cook up a LARGE Jambalaya and such things as salads and garlic bread go well with that BUT the main potluck will be on Sat...my intention on this, is to have something to eat for everyone on Fri, so when they arrive, the only thing they need do is setup their site and not have to worry about cooking up supper on that nite...it's is just good ol' Louisiana Hospitality...or something we call LAGINAPPE....

Your memory is fading.

MadJack's crew did gumbo and other fine cajun cuisine for us last year, and rumor has it, they will do so again this year. Yum, yum -- I do love a good gumbo. :)

I changed my mind. I want to bring some smoked catfish instead of smoked pork chops.

MK, Poor Girl here. Just started posting! Just wanted you to know that I got some of your turnip greens last year and they were wonderful  Just like my mom used to cook. Glad you're thinking of bringing them again. Hope I get some, but with double the partygoers, that might be difficult. :( I haven't decided what to bring for Saturday. It will probably be a chocolate cake of some kind, if I can get it there without MJ eating it. Marlene

Poor Girl, I am so glad to see you online. Hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do. I am sure you look over MJ's shoulder now and then but we need you on here too.

Looking forward to seeing you at the party.

I am not sure what I am bringing to the potluck but I am thinking about the potato casserole like Cracker Barrel serves. E. put a recipe on here and I thought about trying it. I also have a recipe for DO biscuits that are like the ones served at Red Lobster and I thought they might go good with the Cajun faire on Friday.

Me thinks I'll K.I.S.S. this year and make beef and noodles to eat. Since Anna has a Grand Cherokee now, the space is ALOT smaller to haul stuff in and a smoker is WAY TO BIG to haul there and back. We'll see, if the weather is going to be crappy, I'll have to bring it anyway to cook on...................
