Txbum,

pictures will be fine but if any are compromising just blotch out my face lol  for tubes we went to Academy and bought 2 of these
http://swimways.com/product-detail.asp?cid=5&pid=751F8E8B-94F8-4153-96DE-7AD6CCCF058D&pg=1 and we also have 2 others that look something like that. And if all else fails the camp will have tubes.
The Guadalupe gets kind of shallow in places and I wouldn't want to see you dragging that kayak half the day. JMHO  But it will work well on the Comal.

Hey ... I was just at Academy yesterday and didn't think to look at buying a tube , but if I'm gonna spend $$ to rent one, might as well buy one and have it for the lake sometimes. I have a couple of old school friends that have pools too and we're starting to have parties there more and more.

That Lazy tube looks cool ... how pricey was it ? I'm ready to relax just looking at it.

And pictures...... Txbum , you haven't noticed how many pics we take huh? haha

Jewel,
It was about $30.00 but it is made of thick plastic so when you are crawfishin thru a low spot you wont have to worry about tearing

I have always used a truck inner-tube on the Guadalupe River. I'm not sure one of those recreational tubes is tough enough.

Anyone else have experience with non-automotive tubes on that river?

Txbum wrote:Wow, fellow teardroppers thanks for the invite, you made my day . Feeling so welcomed , DW is sooo excited ready to tube and party and take pictures of everyone if permitted. We have a floating tube cooler exactly like the one posted earlier. Question is a inflatable kayak too much to take or would tubes / floating tube chair combo be ok? Thanks ..Rick 8)

Don't let the FBI see your pictures. ;)

I have gone down the Guadelupe in a canoe before, but the water level was up at, or above, normal. You just never know what the water level will be.

tube prefrence

We have always rented for the conveniace of the outfitter bringing you
up and down the river.we have rented the tubes and kyaks, the nice thing about the kyaks is if the river is moving slow you can still move yourself
down the river without just sitting in one place burning in the sun.And we have done that plenty of times.

Yes, Rick... plan on either coming by or just start the camping and the partying on Friday, heck even Thursday night ... haha

I have a brother that lives in Leander, might get him to come join us but don't know yet. I'm counting this as a my summer vacation so the more fun the better.

Yeah, most of us will be arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday. So, you may want to switch to Friday and Saturday night reservations.

Oh, my. I guess nobody told you. We are all vegetarians, and we don't drink alcohol.

Sorry, I guess we should have let you know. ;)

As a veteran Guadalupe "tuber," rent. The vinyl ones won't hold up. The tubes you rent are truck tubes and are capable of the trip. Plus, you support the local economy.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
