fire restriction

With the fire restrictions that Louisiana has in place, noone will even be able to light a cigarette. Sometimes folks with a little authority go nuts.

I spent the weekend at Lake Bistineau while they were having the DO cookoff. I saw about 25-30 fires under the pots. I live 45 miles away and I received a good rain. Hoping the park got some of it. Dulcimer man

Just 1 question,

should we still plan on bringing firewood just in case ?

I am...just in case...there is rain forecast for that week(figures) and I am truly hopeful we will not have fire ban problems...I will keep all informed of what the park is telling me at the time...................

Floods last year. Fires this year. Swarming locusts next year?

Only two more LCGs before December 2012.

If four horsemen show up at LCG7, I'm gonna spend November maxing out my credit cards.

GOOD NEWS...the ban has been lifted on all but open fires...gas or charcoal fired cookers have been OK'D...if we get more rain just before the weekend, they may well lift the fire ban for open fire as well...keep your fingers crossed as AccuWeather is calling for a 60% chance of rain on Tues, the 26th...I will keep all informed...in this thread...if that ban is lifted as well...as of now, I plan on bringing some firewood with me...you should as well............................

Thanks for the update Madjack! I've got a couple hundred pounds of firewood in the back of my truck! I need to pick up a case of cold ones and see if I can get spinnernut to split it up with me before then!
