Just thinking here. If Generator noise is a problem we could make a pit/den for one. Just dig a 2.5 ft pit, cover with a half crate top, leave an opening facing the gulf and cover the top with sand to muffle the noise. All the noise will be deflected away from the camp site and the opening will let the gen. breath and stay cool. Just thinking. Of coarse day time will be turned off.

Just curious, During the coarse of this event, will there be excursions to some of the local spots? I was just wondering what is the norm for the group. I've been in several clubs (still am) and usually there is an outing somewhere as a group. Restaurants, Clubs, Bars, Shopping Centers, Spa's, etc? Just curious if there is a ritual? One club I belong to has a logo "Our Drinking Team has a Racing Problem". Kinda fits the group so what is this ones?

Please forgive the question but I am new here. Thanks.

P, while some do take the occasional excursion, most of us are too busy telling stories, ingesting adult beverages and stumbling over our feet dodging balloons to do much else :D ;) ......................

well, as soon as I get back from my excursion from the Adult Beverage Store, That sounds like a plan. :) Of coarse  I can see myself stumbling into a hammock, sipping a beer and catching a tan. Just hope :worship: the scenery is interesting. No matter what, I plan on having a great time and meeting new and great people on this trip.

Most folks just hang out, talk too much, eat too much, and drink too much. But, there are sometimes small groups that run off and do something "cultural" or otherwise different.

There is a pretty cool bar/restaurant near the Beach Bash headquarters that often has live music on weekends, if some people want to do that.

Walks on the beach are nice, too.

Some folks may want to do a day-trip to Galvaston to see some of the historic sites there.

Basically, between breakfast and dinnertime, we all tend to do whatever we feel like doing.

I'll ask my friend if he wants to come out for the evening. He lives in Galveston and is a professional musician (as in for a living). Maybe bring some acoustic entertainment to us too...

We're gonna need a bigger beach! (Cue the "Jaws" theme)
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

The weather is the only unknown for this Gathering and we have already proved our ability to adapt with LCG,so we will be fine. There are still some vacent lots by our house, but we have a lot of beach for camping, and that will be the best. CD or I will post a check list of things that you may need to bring that might be different than other Gatherings. Only cost is a Beach Parking Permit for $10 which is good for the year (what a bargin). Linda and I are looking forward to sharing a piece of our Paradise with our friends.

More later,

Hey I'm curious ... and remember there are NO dumb questions!

you know I drive a 4cyl Honda Accord and if I have my camper, will I have trouble driving it onto the beach to camp there? I sure don't want to get stuck !

I"m starting to think I might go the weekend before to the Ennis Relay for Life camp/event and then just go from there to see my brother's family near Austin then make my way on to the beach !

Any one may be subject to getting stuck on the beach, but if there is a fourwheel drive vehicle in the group there will be no problems. A few guys can just push you out without much problem. We won't know the condition of the sand until then. Linda says my entertainment is pulling people out of the sand.
