...Welcome in Greg, a number of us are under construction(myself included) and will proably be tent camping, but there should be enough tears present to see and plenty of folks to answer your question. So come on down and join us and take a peek at the goin' ons. Oh yeah, and if you have some of that XXX, bring it along, as someone may need to get their fire goin'  ;)

I lost most of the last two weeks to illness and weather, so things don't look too promising for Benroy McFull

Lenny,

Weather sure hasn't cooperated this weekend. I actually had to clean the garage to get enough room to work on the doors. I hope this weather clears by the 9th. I'm just looking forward to meeting everyone and talking tears Texas style. :shake hands:

11 Building Days Left!

Postby KZ76017 » Tue Mar 29, 2005 12:53 am

There are 11 Building Days Left until Purtis Creek!
I'm really going to be pushing it to be on the road by then and if I am, I don't think I'll have time to get it inspected before then by Texas DPS for the tag. Then there are those !#$%^ trailer lights. My brake lights are working but the turn lights are separate so I had to get the converter and the directions are certainly lacking for that converter.
It may be a relief to give up the idea of bringing it and just resign myself to sleeping in a tent.

I've bought the aluminum, got the door frame parts and lights coming from Camp Inn.

Still I'm way behind schedule!
Check out the build journal.

I hate bad news

Postby TRAIL-OF-TEARS » Tue Mar 29, 2005 4:51 pm

Well folks looks like we wont be able to make it to Purtis creek. The wife just told me she gets to administer the SAT or PSAT or TAX or TOS or some crappy test on the 9th. :x Dag nabbit I was really looking forward to meeting with other teardroppers in person. The only good thing about it is I can now use that day for building if the weather is nice enough.

Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it Steve. But I would imagine this is just the start to a lot of future gatherings.

Steve, that's a bummer. Shure wish y'all could make it, but I know how it is. I asked my wife if she could take off early the 8th, but she can't because she has to have a meeting about the same tests. So, at best, we will be late getting there Friday as it is at least a four hour drive.

Sounds like we have a few educators in this group. My wife is a teacher here in Ennis and I'm a Computer Technician with the school district. We're going to try an be ready to leave on the 8th as soon as school's out.

We probably won't leave till the 9th. The wife won't get off work early enough on the 8th to make it worth leaving on that day. I will have to try and get up early, I hope to leave in the single digits but whenever I say that we will leave by X:00 it usually means X:45.
