Oh My Goodness...... you don't want to see me in my Halloween costumes!!!!!! They usually involve tights of some sort.... like the year I was the "Sugar Plump Fairy"... silver tights, tutu, gray speedo, wife beater t-shirt, ball cap with attached tiara and work boots!!

You know, mosquitos literally eat me alive!!! But whether camping at lakes, state parks, coe campgrounds... I've never had a problem with mosquitos at all.

Lake Bistineau... I'm a charter member and have gone there the past 2 years, and again... don't remember ever having to put on bug spray.
I did'nt hear any gators snapping either , but that's why I have a lock on the INSIDE of my trailer .....

hahaha

ps..... remember to bring blankets though.... it gets nice and chilly at night !!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Hi Julie,
Did someone say there was firewood there? Am wondering if it is for sale or just there. Can't get used to not being able to just go pick it up!

...it is recommended to bring your own firewood...if you want to be assured of a fire...the park sells firewood at the office but it is 7-11 type bundles at 7-11 prices...the campground hosts SOMETIMES have some available(cut up deadwood from the park) and are pretty good about distributing it around but it is subject to availability...the past two years we have not had a shortage but ya never can tell.........

P.S......the lake may be DRY around the campground...in fact, it probably will be, they pulled the level down 5' starting, 7-15 and it will be kept down for at least 6 months, while they try and fight an infestation of GIANT SALVINIA(water grasses)...interested persons can go here to learn more about this problem on Bistineau(and other) lakes http://www.lakebistineau.com/salvinia/index.htm ...if you scroll down the page, you will see links to local newspaper articles and quite a few pics of this very serious nuisance........MJ
