Jeff and Donna, I have been following this thread, but don't know what to post. I'm a cancer survivor, and it took me many hours of research on the internet just to understand what I had. People hear cancer, and many don't realize just how many types there are, and how different they all are. Cancer is a subject like astro-physics. I can't even imagine advice to offer to you. It is all just so far over my head.

I hope Donna feels good enough to come out to LCG4. I hope she starts feeling good enough to do all kinds of fun things for a while. I really hope there is a miracle just around the corner.

And Jeff, don't forget to take care of yourself. It's easy to ignore your own health when you are worried about someone else's. Keep your bubble level.

Keep your chin up. There are a lot of folks out here with both fingers and both toes crossed.

Glen, I too had no idea until we were faced with the big "C". Most only hear CANCER, but there are many catagories. Donna's is one of the most rare, cancer, subcatagory sarcoma, subcatagory leiomyosarcoma, and then uterine leiomyosarcoma. The leiomyosarcomas are rare, and the uterine makes up less than 1% of all leiomysarcomas.
Donna's condition has continued to decline, if it keeps progressing at this rate, I think the time is getting near. It is all in the good Lord's hands now.
As for myself, I am getting tired. Just trying to take care of her is a tough job, and then I must work too. If it weren't for her daughter living with us now and helping, I don't know how I would make it.
I fear if I make it to LCGIV, I'll be flying solo. Time will tell.
I thank all for the prayers and well wishes, I don't know what we would have done without our friends in this time of sorrow.

Things are not looking good. First of all, we think Donna had a light stroke last week. Friday night she slipped into a coma for several hours. The Hospice nurse told us to gather the family. Well, this time she fooled us, she came out about 4AM Sat. She has been in and out of consciousness since, sometimes good, some not so much so. The ups and downs are heartbreaking. Communication is difficult, as she can barely speak now.
Her wish is to pass at home and we are trying to make it so. Her daughter is a CNA. Gina has taken a leave from work and is now staying here to help care for her mother. This seems to get harder by the day.
The lack of sleep is starting to get to me, even when she rests, I still can't seem to sleep. I doze off and then wake to listen for her breathing, if I don't hear it right away, then I am fully awake instantly. Guess I'll sleep when it's over, however long that might be.
Sometimes it is difficult to not look forward to the end, knowing that she will no longer be suffering, but we also feel guilty because of the relief that we know will be there for us. After 23 years together, I will be lost without her.
More later when there is more to tell.........Jeff

All I can think to say is hang in there Jeff. Your right you'll be lost for a while without Donna but with your friends help you'll make it and you have a lot of friends here.
Still praying

I didn't realize things had gotten this bad with her condition. I'm so sorry to hear it, but I'm glad you are talking to us, and not stuffing all this inside yourself.

I can't even imagine the thoughts and feelings going round and round in your head. Don't let your thoughts tear you apart.

Whatever direction this goes, I hope Donna finds some relief soon. I'd prefer a miraculous recovery and a cure, but like you said, it is out of our hands.

Jeff, this is not a "thread" that you've created here, it's an incredible loving and heart wrenching journal. And this is a "living" journal because we are all here with open hearts and prayers on the other end. We are honored that you have let us into this space and because of that, I hope you feel just how wide the circle of caring is for you and Donna now.

Journaling can be very therapeutic. Continue to write unabashed. We are here for you.

Jeff, I was just thinking about you and Donna this morning. Thank you for your update. You both are still in our prayers. Like others have said you will be lost for a long time but you have plenty of friends to help you through a difficult time.
I know it is hard but don't feel guilty thinking about relief for yourself and family members later on. Those that have cared for a loved one like you are doing knows exactally how you feel.

Praying for you, Donna and the rest of her loved ones.

Well my friends, at 11:40AM, Donna went home to be with our Lord. It has been a long hard fight and now she is at peace, no longer in pain.
I want to thank all of our friends for the prayers, you have been the strength that I have leaned on during these times.
After 23 years together, I know I will be lost without her, it just hasn't hit me yet. I know I will need my friends and family to help me through this.
Thank you all again, Jeff

Jeff,

Donna has left her worldly body and is no longer suffering, that is a blessing. The hard part for her is over, the difficult path back for you is only beginning. Thank you so much for sharing these personal events I don't know if I could have handled it as well as you have done. One nice thing about our Tear Drop and Tiny Trailer Family, any time day or night, someone is here. We'll always leave the light on for you.
