That's the place. If ya follow NM244 from US82 'bout half a mile, then click & drag the 'street view' icon to the Jct of first road to right, you should see the gate Linda's talkin' about. You can see the Lower Fir group/picnic shelter in the background. The road goes right on thru the C/G & on up the hill to Upper Fir.

GATE CODE 1926

If anyone has any problems or questions go the campground on the left hand side of the road and that is where the park host will be.

hopefully no one will pop the balloons or steal them.
We marked the turn for one of our daughters wedding that was in the country and someone stole the balloons. Luckly they left at least one.

Are you still coming to the shady Dell?

That way we can get lost together :R

Yep, we'll be there on the 29th. Going to do the tourist thing. Talked to Jen at Pismo and they are expecting us. Oh, and I planned on following you. So if we get lost, it's your fault.

I got the generator out today, cleaned it up changed the oil. I must be ready to go camping.

Anyone know if there is a burn ban or not?

Woody, currently there are no burn bans in Lincoln National Forest.
http://www.publiclands.org/firenews/NM.php You will probably need to bring firewood with you or if I remember correctly, the camp host at Pines campground (across the highway from Fir Group) sells firewood. See you next week.

Macy and I are leaving on Monday. It has been 95 to 100 here for almost three weeks. Can't wait to get an altitude headache at 75 degrees.
Everyone be safe on the journey.

Larry, it has been in the 90's here for a couple of weeks as well.
Safe travels to you and Macy. Looking forward to seeing you guys and enjoying the cool mountain air. Too bad we can't bottle it up and take it back home.

Well my scooter is charged and the tear is ready to pack. We'll be headed out first thing Monday morning with a stop in Phoenix to visit a daughter and then two nights in Bisbee, Az. Hope to be in Cloudcroft Thursday. Don't know how I'm going to do at 9000 feet, I'll just have to wait and see. But this year we'll be there, at least for a couple of days.

We are still planning on staying at Bottomless Lakes State Park Thursday night and arriving at Cloudcroft Friday before noon. Looks like there might be four of us, one tear, and two tents. Ronnie
