Hello Everyone,

How's everybody doing? Lisa and I are really looking forward to meeting everyone at the event. I'll have the most current list posted on my site, as well as here tomorrow.

You won't need reservations if you're staying in the primitive or overflow areas. I reserved 20 water/electric sites, and I'll probably release a few in the next few days as it gets closer.

We can also double up, so if you have friends you'd like to stay with, feel free. That would save some $ as well.

The park has been really busy, and we've been full every weekend for over a month now. It keeps me hopping. I'll actually be working Fri, Sat, and Sun, but I imagine my boss will let me sneak away now and then.

First Tear meet.

Postby backwoodsman » Tue Apr 05, 2005 11:13 am

I thought this week would never get here. Yeah! :applause:
I have a million questions. I hope everyone can make it and bring your Tears with you......even the unfinished ones.
If anyone has plans or notes or blueprints or information on suppliers or tricks or tips anything that could help a beginner, please bring them.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Greg

Hello everyone,
The Coca Cola Teardrop has been washed and packed. We are ready for a fun weekend. Can't wait to meet everyone. A Pot Luck supper had been discussed for Saturday night. Sounds good to us. Was wondering if we need to post what we plan to bring or do we all want to be surprised? I'm easy. See y'all Friday or Saturday.

No details - we're just kinda winging this I think. :) I can't cook. I can bring chips/salsa. Maybe cake?

Ok - here's the newest list:

site#1 SteveH / Sonny & Dixie
site#2 gardenwood / cowper
site#3 Steve W.
site#4 TRAIL-OF-TEARS
site#5 KZ76017
site#6 davel
site#7 GeorgeT
site#8 madjack
site#9 asianflava
site#10 McTeardrops
site#11 R. Emerson
site#12 Hal H.
site#13 Coca Cola Teardrop
site#14 David & Debbie

I'll go dig through my emails and this site to make sure I've got everyone included - or remove people who aren't going to be able to make it. Please let me know if I need to add you, or remove someone. I'll probably release a few sites tomorrow if we're not going to need all 20. Sites #1 & #2 (the actual sites will be picked out when you get to the park) are doubling up. I'm excited - this is going to be great!

Dave,

Get the tail lights on. All the rest of that stuff is optional. :)

SteveH - Is that really your little hot rod, or was that a photo op?

davel - Looking good! It should be easy to pick your tear out of a lineup. :)

Steve W,

Yes, that's really my hotrod. However, I won't be towing the teardrop with it. Not that it wouldn't do it, just think my pickup will be more practical and comfortable.

About the Purtis Creek Park, I read somewhere that you stated the gates are locked at 10 PM, and it may be that late before we get there Friday night. How do we get in?

I'll email you the gate code. The outgoing gate has a combination lock so people can enter/leave after hours.

I have to go up there tomorrow - I'll get the code and send it your way.

Steve,

Thanks, that will work. We should be there before 10, but you never know whey you have 300 miles to drive. The earliest we can leave is 4:00.

Steve,

I saw mention of a slide show. What type of projection system do ya'll have? I was going to load up all my construction shots and timelapse shots on a CD, figured I could show those interested on the wife's laptop.

I was just going to grab a lot of images off the net, but haven't gotten around to doing that yet. I've been too busy lately - makes the day go fast but don't have enough time to get everything done.

Bring your CD, that would be great! We have an lcd projector (usb, composite, svideo, etc.) and laptop for presentations.
