You are moved-good deal-now you will have more time to explore the canyon. We were supposed to get some of the storms and rain but it has, for the most part, been starting northeast of us and moving away. Hope everyone at Watkins Mills make it through it ok. Hope we get some more rain before May 14 but then no more until May 19. It is time to go camping. :picnic: :chips: :coffee: :icedtea: :picklejuice: :ilovecamp: Ed & Ruby

Whee just 2 weeks to go. Well I guess it is time to think about food. We will plan on serving breakfast Friday & Saturday morn and dinner Thursday and Friday evening to every one that wants to join us. We did not plan any lunch as everyone needs some time to explore. We are cooking and freezing right now, so we should be good to go in 2 weeks. I guess we need to start a thread for Saturday's Potluck so we can get some ideas. :picnic:  Good Weather  Ed & Ruby

Well Guys & Girls, We went to the canyon this morning to look around and talk to the lady at the gate. The canyon looks great, but a little dry, the burn ban is on and they do not see anyway it will be lifted in the next couple of weeks. We will keep checking just in case. This means no charcoal or wood fires. Just things that have an on/off switch or button such as electric or propane. The lady at the gate was very nice and plans to be on duty the 14th & 15th so we should all be able to get in Sagebrush camp ground and as close together as possible. Sure hope she stays healthy, seems like she will be easy to work with..lol I think most of you have our cell and home phones numbers, if not send me a pm and we will send it to you. As some of you will remember, a cell phone will not work down in the canyon. They will work up top close to the gate but not in the campgrounds. We are so ready to go camping. See you all in 10 or 11 days. Ed & Ruby :D :D

Just a reminder about Palo Duro's hours

"Hours of operation (weather permitting)

May 1 - May 30

Sun - Thu: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Fri - Sat: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

For More information: 806-488-2227 ext. 100"

If you do arrive after the gate is closed, they do have an overflow parking area near the gate entrance. There is water but no electric. There is a bathroom nearby.

I called this morning and the burn ban is still on.

The closer it gets the more excited we get.
So much to look forward to:

Looks like a good forecast. We can't wait to get there. Me ,Tammy and Morgan will be there on Thursday and the rest of our family (5) will be there on Saturday. It's a long drive for them but they really wanted to camp in Palo Duro. I may need to set up a tent at another campsite if someone has room. Please. See ya'll soon.
