Thanks Tom!

I'd like to meet the southern group too.

We're thinking about stopping in on our way to San Antonio to see our daughter.
I'm guessing Camping in Louisiana at the end of October is pleasant? (warm and dry)
It's been 37 years since I lived in Houston, all I can remember is muggy and hot summers.

Rob,

Glad to hear you 're thinking about making the trip! Of course your welcome....(don't tell anyone, but Kerry and I are originally from Illinois :shhh: ) The camping weather is normally pretty decent, although we have had a little rain in the past. It is always campfire weather at night. I guess the more I think about it, weather is anyone's guess, but that has never affected the size of the LCG crowd!

LCG is always a great time, we have not missed one....plenty of food, plenty of drink, plenty of friends, and of course, plenty of good times!

Hope you guys can make the trip, look forward to meeting you.

Rob, Regarding the temps, I will share my first LCG experience, I believe it was my second ever gathering in my old teardrop so I was learning and I only brought my "Gilligan" style deck shoes. It was so cold in the morning everyone was wearing jackets and staying warm but my feet were freezing. It really became a painful problem where I had to leave the park and drive to town to get new shoes. It wasn't near freezing but probably in the 40's or low 50's. That might be warm for you LOL...

So keep in mind it can be very chilly in the morning and by the afternoon, we are wearing shorts and it can get up to the 80's. So depending on the ebb and flow of celestial events you never know what it will be down here. You won't need the parka but don't just show up in flip flops either!

Thomas,

Thanks for the tips.
Sounds like good sleeping weather!
As long as we can avoid road salt, all is good.
Are there many roads in the park suitable for bike riding?

I know the main road throughout the park is nice and fairly long, it is quite hilly though so it might not be the best for bike riding, does anyone else know about the trails and other roads in the park, to be honest I've never strayed too far when I was at this one!

Rob, there are some hills, but there are plenty of paved roads for riding throughout the park. There normally are bikes at LCG.

We always bring our bikes. From a Texas perspective there are hills, but really it is just rolling topography. We're well past 50 and can handle the topography on bikes.

Rob, I apologize that I have not been able to keep up with the build threads as I liked, but I was wondering if you would be bringing the cabin car or something else?

Wow! So great that you are going to make it.

About the weather--extremes have been from 38 at night to 85 during the day. If history holds, it will rain on wednesday and thursday and be great the rest of the weekend. Pack a jacket and some gloves just in case--40 degrees with a wisp of wind in southern humidity can chill you to the bone! But no worries about ice or salt--except on the saturday margaritas, if i can make it!
