Bluebonnet season is almost here. Anyone planning a Texas Hill Country weekend?
I did a tour last year with a car club, and we made it a "Bluebonnets and Barbeque" tour.
I'm not sure what the Bluebonnet "forecast" is this year. They usually look good by the second week of April.
Post up your thoughts on an impromptu gathering or tour.

Bluebonnets are already starting to bloom here around Ennis. Looks like a better year than last year.

We've got some down here also, but they look pretty sparce because of the drought we've had all Fall and Winter. Got lots of rain last week, but I think too late for the flowers here.

usually Willow City loop is very nice for bluebonnets but last year was bad. it looked like a desert we saw 1 bluebonnet. We were in the area last week, at least everything is green. We could do a Fredericksburg or Kerville campout.

Last year was bad for Bluebonnets all over. The winter drought kept them from blooming.
I have two weekend trips in a row starting this weekend, but would still like to do some blubonnets and BBQ in the Hill Country.
Hmmmmm.

Hmmmmm.

You wanna make the BBQ or stop at a place and get some BBQ?
We could do a San Marcos/Wemberly area tour and meet up at the Salt Lick for some B.S. and BBQ. I am all for a cruise with the tears we don't have to camp out. just park them some place and let the folks look.

Salt Lick has a big enough parking lot that bringing trailers probably won't be a problem. We'll just have to park on the back 40. Just have kinda like a cruise in or something like that. Where everybody just shows up at the same place at the same time.

Mmmmmm. The Salt Lick.
I am so there. They have the best cole slaw on the planet! That's no lie.
