How tiny is a Tiny Travel Trailer ?

Now that I am older I had to go to a 17' Hi-Lo travel trailer, so I have been searching to see what size makes a "Tiny Trailer". I would love to join y'all in Oct. in LA, but I don't know if I would be eligible. Penny, TX

Gary and I dont have a Tear Drop ... but we do have a small trailer ... and go to all the gatherings in the South Central. You will definitely be welcomed by a bunch of extraordinary folks that just like to get together and have a good time and eat alot !! We went to the gathering last year at Lake Bisteanue and it was awesome. If you come, you will definitely be made to feel at home. Trudy

I took my Scamp to the Beaver's Bend gathering and no one threw me out!! I have reformed and got another teardrop now . I'm sure you will be welcomed.

Personally, I would say 13' and under....

But, I'm thinking anyone on this forum would be more than welcome.. I've never seen anyone at any gathering hassled about what they sleep in.

Like someone told me once, the more the merrier... and you can take that to the bank...... as my cousin once said.

We even had a "motorhome" at our Beaver's Bend gathering.
Of course there was one restriction. It had to be hidden behind a tree.
There ya go........No problem.
You are welcome at any South Central gathering.

I don't think I'd want to camp with people that are so uptight as to forbid someone from joining them for any reason. South Central is a fantastic group of people. Enjoying the outdoors is a common bond for all of us.

At least you have a travel trailer. I'm still not sure if my tent cot in the 4'x8' utility trailer counts as a travel trailer, TTT, or teardorp. I hope to start building a TTT this month, then I can make a garthing.

Oh yea I live about 20-30 minutes east of you guys.

Poolking I can remember one gathering where Pat Hopkins came with flattbed trailer and some panels and a tarp to sleep under so a tent, cot and utility trailer sounds fine to me. Just bring a smile and something to eat and desire to make friends and your ready for a gathering.

Hello Steve, I see you are around Plantersville. I guess you get involved with The Renaissance, around that time of year ? Or are you going to LA to avoid it ? The crowds and traffic around there then, must be horrific.
I really do appreciate you offering to convoy with me, as I am a widowed great grandma, now, and I haven't traveled that far since my better half passed away. But don't worry, my 10 yr. old Gr. Cherokee and vintage Hi-Lo can keep up, but we don't exceed the limit for gas guzzling reasons !
I can't make a reservation just yet, as I shall have to see what will be going on around here closer to the time.
I was going to get a Casita, but I wanted a bigger kitchen, and lower traveling profile. I also have an Apache Hard-side that sleeps 8, too big for me, and more difficult to raise than the hydraulic Hi-Lo.

I think size and character of a TT is one of those things that defies definition, but you know it when you see it.

It's more the "spirit" of the TD and TT camper that matters. If you bring a an air-conditioned camper with satelite TV and spend most of your time indoors, then what's the point of camping.

On the other hand, if you bring the same camper, and cook outside and spend your time with the rest of the campers, then you'll fit right in.

Sure, a well-crafted custom TD is cool for eveyone to look at, but it's the person who brings it that matters most.

Dog you make a good case for the people aspect of the gatherings.

Pointing out that adding creature comforts to a point that the scale tips and you hole
uP and not experience people or the outside world is a key aspect of small
trailers that you know it when you see it.

Having been to camp grounds where there were 30 big rigs and we three
small rigs the experience was like night and day. It was like we three small
rigs had the whole campground as the people who owned the houses on
wheels evaporated to their inside domains and left nature to us.
