LCG plans and side trippin'

I'm putting in for
vacation , and got to thinking....


I"m planning now on leaving on Thursday Oct 25th to head to LCG (it's a 6 hr drive) and then on Sunday come back and stay at Mena, AR at Queen
Wilhelmina park so on that Monday can drive back thru the scenic drive to
Talihina OK.
Me and friend did that last year, and it was gorgeous scenery!!! With all
this rain we got this summer, hopefully it will be good this fall. It's a
nice fall drive thru the Ouachita Mtns.
That will make this a little more like a vacation --- which is always
needed !

Hey Julie. What route are you taking to get to LCG? I think I'm going to plan on being there on Thursday also and leaving out on Sunday.

If you plan to take I 35 South then I 20 E we should wave at each other on I 35 since I'll be heading to OK city.
I'll be watching for you. I leave at 5am and arrive in OK city by 1pm so I'll be watching for you. Of course I won't be pulling a tear so you won't know I'm waving at you. Give me a cell # and I'll call you to tell you I just passed you.

Let's see..... last year I seem to remember it was .... I-40 east to about Henryetta, OK ... then the Indian Nation Turnpike down to Hugo, OK or just into TX... then over to Texarkana, and then over to Shreveport and look for the big party banner and lights... haha

ON the way back, took whatever highway back thru Texarkana and up to Mena, AR and stayed on the mountain, it was soooo foggy we took hwy 270 ? the lower road and went up to the Heavener Runestone ,etc.

I know there are others coming from the KC area... so sounds like you might have a convoy if the timing's right.... If anyone is swinging thru OKC on Thursday , c'mon to my place.!!!

Going to take the Talihina drive huh??

Just got back from out there today myself.
If you go out there take an extra day or two and head down to Robber's Cave state park. Plenty of fun stuff to do and the campsites are great and reasonably priced, actually the lowest I've found around in a while.

Looks like I might be making the trip also. Vacation approved to make LCG II and a day and a half to get back home before work Tuesday night.

I might try it comming back from LCG.

I can park the trailer in my parking spot at work on Tuesday and clean it up at my lunch ( Mid Night ) to prepare to unload or reload Wednesday morning at the house then one nights work before the weekend again.
