Folks, as many of you know, we are going to fill up the campground at Lake Bistineau for the second annual Louisiana Cypresswood Gathering...because of this, I have talked with Ranger Tom and recieved permission for folks to double up on a site if needed...there are also 16 non-reservable site, available on a first come first served basis...these sites are overflow sites, with water and electric but little else, they are located along the parking lit next to the screened Rally Pavillion that is located adjacent to the campground...Ranger Tom is checking to make sure but if no one else has reserved the Rally Pavillion/Kitchen, it is ours to use, free of charge...very cool of Tom to offer this area for our useage. SO if you wanna comeon down and join the fun but haven't or couldn't get a reservation, comeon down anyway, we WILL find a place for ya!!!!!!!!! (PLEASE let me know if you are coming without a reservation so I can make a place for ya)

Just like last year, we will have a halloween decorating contest for your site...an award will be given so bring your spooky goodies and see if you can top Julie this year...her decorations last year were absolutely the scariest...in addition, Ranger Tom has informed me that they have set up a "Haunted Trail" for those of us brave enough to face the spooks...

Me and my crew will cook up a genuine Cajun Gumbo for everyones dinner Friday night...on Saturday, we will have a Bar-B-Que cook-off amongst all those who have voluntered to show us what Queing is all about...those Texas boys have thrown down a serious challenge to all...if you are not Queing, salads, Bar-b-Que beans, dirty rice, fruit plates, garlic bread and any fixin's to go with the Que will be welcomed for the potluckas will banan pudding, chocolate cake and other deserts...bowls, plates, dinnerware and related items will also be welcomed on both Fri and Sat nights.

In addition to an award for best Halloween decorations, there will be awards for furthest travelled and a peoples choice award for the best trailer...somebody needs to whup Steve(sonnetpro) this year.

Last year we did a raffle for a number of very nice donated prizes. This year, I think we will just do it as door prizes...anyone wishing to donate an item, will be appreciated, these items should be related to what we do and should be items under 20 bucks...the items can be serious or joke related and everyone in attendance will get an entry to the drawings, so the more items donated the more folks will get a prize.

Tshirts...I have given a tenative order for150 T's cause I know everyone will want one...so far I have gotten orders for almost 30 shirts...I REALLY need you to getchur orders in by the end of this month, so that sizes, ect. are correct.

This "event" is shaping up to be one of the largest of the year and if anyone is pondering on coming on down you should do so...it's gonna be great...I am already blown away by the number of folks who have reserved to help me celebrate my birthday and if anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to give me a shout...the only thing else I have to say at present is....
Laissez les Bon "Tears" Roulet.....................

I can't wait! So since we will have the pavilion, I'm guessing that the potluck, etc will be there?

Rocky, it kinda depends on the weather...I have reserved the site next to me for the festivities and if the weather is nice we will probably hold everything there since it is a bit of a haul to get everything to the pavillion...plus, since it would be free we will havvta clean it afterwards...we will weigh one against the other when the time comes but right now, it is just for backup.........

Phil, it is great to hear that you and Donna are gonna make it down...I was afraid you were gonna miss all the goings on...

Folks, we may have others coming in without reservations...WHO out there would be willing to share their site with another if needed?????

I have talked to and received permission from Ranger Tom for this...when you goto check in, just let them know that you are sharing a site with someone and have Toms' permission to do so...there are also 16 non-reservable sites available, located along the parking lot next to the group pavillion next to the campground...

:( Sorry to say but the Sodapop Teardrop (aka Coca Cola Tear) is going to have to cancel for the LCGII. We have had something unexpected but important come up. Therefore, our spot is open and I can vouch for the neighbors (Todah and McTeardrops)! Carol & Shayne

WOOOHOO Better late than never !!! Glad to see you're coming! '
You'll have a blast!!!

Just a month away...

So far, my plan is to drive down sometime that Thursday and then leave on Sunday and head to Mena, AR and then maybe camp at Queen Wilhemina at the top of the mountain and drive back to OKC thru the gorgeous fall colors. We had a pretty wet, mild summer and they should be gorgeous this year !!! Anybody else is welcome to join me !

I would be happy to share my campsite with anyone that needs some space. I'm really looking forward to this gathering.

So MJ, when are we going to see the event logo?
