Today's the big day! Oklahoma is celebrating our 100th birthday today with a big parade in downtown Oklahoma City. Our local high school band is marching in it.
It's a great honor. Only 5 high school bands were invited, and we are one of them. Coming from a town of only 1400 people, that's amazing! We are all so excited!!
If you happen to see it on TV this afternoon (Live at 2:00, on OETA for those in OK) watch for the Pride of Konawa Marching Band! My daughter plays trombone, and she'll have on black pants and a white jacket. Oh, they'll all have on the same thing!

Anyway, we're excited!! See you Okies at the parade!!!!

I went to the parade this afternoon in windy downtown Oklahoma City, along with several thousand other folks.... who would have guessed, I walk around looking for a spot to watch and BOOM -- run into Karol's friend and fellow Minden camping friend Tammie !!!! Tammie came with Karol to the ITG and also had a daughter marching in the band.

The whole thing was great, a big 100th birthday bash , James Garner the actor and Norman, OK native was grand marshall. OKlahoma's birthday is actually next month. Meggie and Tammie's daughter all looked good in the band !!!

Congrats Konawa High School Band !!!
I'll try to post a picture later.
