I'm not trying to organize any talent show, but just wondered if anyone is bringing guitars or ? to strum around a campfire, etc?

I know Diverguy is bringing his and I might sing something with him.

And of course there's no way we can all be around one big BONFIRE but they'll be different campfires around at different sites.

I agree with something someone else posted about liking fires where we have more like 15 friends around, and more laughs and conversation.

Too religious?

Okay.

On top of spaghetti all covered with cheese
I lost my poor meatball when somebody sneezed

It rolled off the table and onto the floor
And than my poor meatball rolled out of the door

It rolled into the garden and under a bush
And than my poor meatball was nothing but mush

The mush was as tasty as tasty could be
Then early next summer it grew into a tree

The tree was all covered with beautiful moss
It grew lovely meatballs with tomato sauce

So next time you eat s'getti all covered with cheese
Hang onto your meatball and don't ever sneeze!

Funny story (off-topic, though):

Many years ago, when I was in High School, I was invited by a girlfriend to go on a church youth campout on a lake in East Texas. I was asked to teach some camping skills to the kids. They were a nice bunch of suburban white kids, but rather naive, as they proved later. They are in the 12 to 14 age range.

They wanted to have a bonfire by the lake, so we sent them about to gather up driftwood and such to pile up for the fire. They wanted to do all the work and build the fire themselves.

After dark, they came to get us, and we came to the water's edge to see their bonfire. It was quite large.

Here is the funny, yet incredibly uncomfortable, part. In a truly Christian gesture, and serving as a complete demonstration of suburban white kid cluelessness, they had built the bonfire in the shape of a cross -- on the edge of a lake, in East Texas, in the 70s. :o

After we got over the initial shock, and knocked down the burning cross, we had a good laugh about it.

Then came the singing of Kum ba yah. ;)

I like to go swiming with bow-legged women
and swim between their legs...
swim between thier legs....

or

Sometimes in the spring
and sometimes in the fall
we jump into the TearDrop
with nothing on at all...
Glory, Glory hal-le-luia
Glory, Glory hal-leluia
Glory, Glory hal-leluia
With NOTHING ON AT ALL
