There was a google calendar for 2007, maybe we can use google calendar as our standard so that we can all be on the same page.

Grant has an excellent calendar on his website and it is also accessed at the top of this page under destinations.

I'll host one at the beach.
Not in Febuary though. It would be cold. If the wind is coming off the gulf it will be the same temp as the sea water.
Mabye May or June??
I would prefer Sea Rim but it is still closed. I was there over the weekend and camped at McFadden Beach
This park is nice. http://www.matagordabayrv.com/

It is right on the gulf where the Colorado river dumps. Good fishing for inshore kayak, offshore kayak, bay fishing kayak, beach fishing, pier fishing, river fishing.
It has 70 sites and just opened last year.

We need to move Inks Lake gathering, if we want to have another one, up one week to avoid the hords of Boy Scouts. Just my suggestion.

Cindy's responses

Postby Cindy » Mon Dec 10, 2007 6:06 pm

Jerome, I used to put our gatherings there but new South Central folks don't tend to go there to look. Also, we have so many gatherings. . . . Thank you for the advice though.'
Rocky, I never saw a calendar for 2007. I will look at it. Tyler says it is useful.
Steve H. - You guys plan it and we will come. I kind of liked the boy scouts. They were fun to watch! Just let us all know what weekend to make reservations. It was a great Thanksgiving gathering.
Sonetpro - You plan a May gathering for that place. It looks good. Lots of stuff to do and it would be warm enough to swim but not too hot yet. Start a thread on how to get reservations. What weekend? etc. You plan it; they will come.
I hope nobody is offended that I started this thread. It doesn't mean that I am in charge of it but just wanted to answer some questions some new folks have been asking.

Great thread !

If a Calandar is not accessable then Make a Sticky and post at the top of South Central Region.

Sonetpro that would be a great Idea in the months mentioned. You get my vote on the at. :applause:

Petit Jean State Park; I will try to get things starrted in arangements on a date with the park early this upcomming year in the same time frame as last year ( just after the Car show at Winthrop Farms Auto Museam ).

The Car Swap meet is scheduleds for M.O.T.A.A. June 10th - 14th in 2008 and September 24th - 27th of 2008. At Winthrope Farms Antique Car Museum down the road from the park about a mile.

I will check with the park to see if other things are scheduled in the same time frame.

Good Idea about the visit to Mexico with Kai & Lois (Mexican Tear). I will have to check insurances and I need a Passport anyway ( just a long waite here to get one - six months or longer backed up here locally ).

Is it Spring yet?

Postby RAYVILLIAN » Tue Dec 11, 2007 9:03 pm

I am ready to go camping now !!! Where it is warm !!! Thank goodness we had our winter camping in MO when we did. Since I am working again  Gary and I will probably have to limit our camping to Beaver's Bend, Cedar Hill, Petit Jean and LCG III. So put us down for breakfast for all 4! Maybe we can squeeze in some close-to-home weekend camping too.

Our prayers are with all of you that got the ice so bad. We had ice ... but thankfully still have power and open roads. Since we usually get our ice in February or March ... does this mean that winter is over :worship:

Just a suggestion ... I don't see any reason to have the ITG info on the list.... let's open up June for something else.

The only cool place I can think of for AUGUST is in central Oklahoma , at Red Rock Canyon. No lake , but went there last year in early August and could feel it getting cooler as we drove down the canyon.

May will likely be extremely busy for me with graduations - a high schooler and a National Guard basic training grad.

June is yours Julie

Postby Cindy » Wed Dec 12, 2007 7:45 am

Julie, June is yours. Plan it and they will come!!!! Really, find out what we have to do to get it one the calendar - how to make reservations, how to pay, where it is ? All that jazz. Make a new thread for it and we will be there.

Trudy, I don't think winter is over. I think it is just beginning. I was kind of hoping you and Gary could go to Mexico in July with us. Guess there is no way if you can't get off.

Anybody else want to plan a gathering? Two in one month is ok too. Everybody can't go to all of them but somebody will be there. You plan it and they will come>>>>
