I just made reservations there for February 22 nd, and 23 rd. They have lots of sites available. I figure late February will not be too cold, but yet not too hot yet.
We can make it a gathering if anyone else wants to go. Lake Sommerville is close to Caldwell and Brenham Tx.
There is obiously a lake there, several parks around the lake, and a long trailway between the parks for hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding.
More info here:

Hope to see you there.

I'll think about it. I think Lake Sommerville isn't that much farther from the house as Inks Lake. Plus the dates you posted are on my short work week.

I wish I could Steve. The 23rd is my oldest and youngest childrens birthday. The girls would be upset if I wasn't there (so would I). The wife is going to make me hang with the inlaws. AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Donner,
Sorry you can't make it. Have you thought of having the birthday party at the park and bringing the inlaws?
Steve and Randy,
Sounds great. Hope y'all can make it. It will probably be a smallish gathering, but it should be fun anyway, and by then, we will all want to get out of the house!

I believe Linda and I can make that. Are you going to block some spots again, or do we need to call ourselves?

Mr Whitley,
Texas State park system will not allow us to block sites, so you do need to call and make your reservations.
The only thing we
can do is, the first person that arives at the park, can pickup and assign the sites for those that have paid for their reservations in full. That will allow is to get together in the same area.
We do hope you can make it.

It;s been a while since I stayed at a TPWD park, if I remember you cant reserve a specifc spot...... is that still true?
If not what spot(s) are we shhoting for?

Randy,
Yes, it's true you cannot reserve a specific spot. That's the reason we have the first person there pickup the sites, so we can be close together as a group.
Personally, I have no specific desires for sites, but if some want something, say close to the water, that's what we'll try to get.
Make that reservation.

By the way, I noticed you have 2000 plus posts, and only have 18. Looks to me like you need to spend some more time on those floors.
