Okay, cool weather ... cabin fever.... dark too early in the evening...

Think ahead to Sept 26-28 and let me know what you think.

CAMP AT SNAKE CREEK CAMPGROUND
AT LAKE TENKILLER IN EASTERN OKLAHOMA

www.laketenkiller.com

Just north of I-40 in Eastern Oklahoma , north to Vian. Snake Creek is on the southeast side of the lake and about 20 minutes north of Vian and the highway.

This is not a state park, but a corp of engineers park. Nice grounds, good bath house.. I will have to look back at my notes of which # camp spots would be best.

Me and friends camped there this same time last year, and the weather was GORGEOUS ... the Fin and Feather Fall Festival is a HUGE craft sale and swap meet and the towns of Vian and Gore have garage sales galore.

Can't make reservations on Reserve America or call the park for reservations till March 28 because of a six month window. I have the email address of a very very helpful person there.

ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL
Although every season has its own charm and beauty, autumn is the traditional time for fairs. Each September, Fin & Feather Resort hosts its annual Fall Festival, one of the most popular arts and crafts shows in the state. Last year, thousands of visitors flocked to see more than 200 exhibitors displaying and selling their unique handiwork during the three-day event. Since its inception, the festival has grown in size and attendance every year.

The 2008 event looks to be no exception. Already, many of last year's exhibitors have already reserved their booth space for the 40th Annual Fall Festival Arts & Crafts Show, to be held September 26th, 27th and 28th. Admission is free.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK !!!!! I KNOW I WANT TO GO FOR SURE ... IT WAS SO NICE LAST YEAR !!!!!

We have a family reunion at Eufaula the middle of September, so that could interfere with us going. Sounds like it would be a fun time though!

DATES FIXED

It was correct in the pasted verbiage but I put it wrong on the subject line.

That is the last weekend of September.

This doesn't have to be a big shindig , and even if you don't wanna go to the craft show or the swap meet part of it, that's okay. The F&F resort is kinda down by the dam on the south end, only about 10 miles or so from Snake Creek.

I realize it's kinda far ahead... I'm shooting for at least one campout trip each month... that worked out good for last year.
So far I have April , Sept and October so far. Possibly Tenkiller (Cherokee Landing) on May 9-11 cuz the Strawberry Festival is closeby in Stilwell.

It's MARCH now and that COE park has a 6 month window for reservations.... so come the end of March let's jump on it and reserve spots. As it gets closer I'll post some good site numbers.
The fall colors would be good, the nights cooler, the location is not hard to get to at all.... all we need is the good friends for a great gathering.

More later......

Hey Julie and whom ever,
I'm looking at this Sept at Lake Tenkiller post, Is it "official" yet???? I'm trying to plan my summer/fall schedule and don't want to miss anything this close to home.
