I ordered the 2008 Oklahoma Event Guide (free and free shipping!)
so I can start planning other things that are going on ... festivals, shows ... to maybe go and enjoy by camping close too.
I know the Strawberry Festival is in Stilwell... close is the Lake Tenkiller area.
The Pecan Festival is in Okmulgee... right there is Dripping Springs St. Park.
The Magnolia Festival in Durant I believe... well, Texoma and Murray lakes and state parks are right there.
SO MUCH CAMPING TO DO !!!!!!!!!!!! Is this what January and February are for? Planning and dreaming? haha

Can't wait to get started, so I can get done, so I can get out there haha... I'm a novice camper just because I hate tents, but I love the outdoors. The Tear changes EVERYTHING

I'll be out fer sher, but I don't want to book anything but Beaver's Bend yet.

Yes , Cabin Fever is spreading like the plague in some places... here in bitter cold OKC it's rampant!! haha
Me and Karol might come up with a date to do something like a Red River campout at Texoma or close by ..... There is a Magnolia festival by Durant in late June I think, and that's close to Texoma...
Me and a friend at work are looking at different festivals and events and trying to do some camping close by and have some fun (NOT that teardropping isn't fun already !!!)
We're gonna have some decent temp's this weekend so I will try to do a little something on my Jewel ...

Although you didn't reply, you must have sent warm temps anyway.
It was 40 degrees this morning at 6 oclock. That's 65 degrees warmer than last week. I don't know what the high was but lots of melting.
More snow coming though
Thanks

well, my quarterly bonus comes in Friday, so I am going to try and take Friday off so I can pick up the steel, axle and trailer lights Friday, and Saturday build the frame, so that's what I'll be doin! Today was nice weather, kinda foggy and rainy but not cold at all and I'll take that!

Hey 2bits....after looking at your East Texas Classics link I see you have been to Beavers Bend and enjoyed it.
You should come join us at our Beavers Bend gathering in April. You would get plenty of ideas with as many teardrops as we will have attending.

Ironic you said that as I just changed my signature line from "My goal is to be done by Beavers Bend" at this point I am trying to engineer the tear to always allow for future upgrades! I have Just about 1 month! ! ! and I haven't welded the trailer yet! My 71 Nova auction is ending in less than 24hrs so I will have materials and tools money by next weekend!
I really just want to catch whatever camping I can before it gets to hot down here!

It's never too hot to camp here!! Just go to a higher elevation or lake side. Any place is OK with an A/C. My tear has A/C and a Honda generator, just incase I need a midday nap

. However despite what some of you think , It does get TOOOOO COLD.

Hope to see ya at Beavers Bend

My other half says that I have to have the TD campable before the fall festival at Wilburton in Oct. Do any of you make it to this festival and car show?
