Storms all around us Glenn but we were fortunate, no damage locally. Watched the weather folks on one Little Rock channel track what they called a 'super-cell' storm for 2 1/2 hours with no diminishing of intensity. It's the one that did all the major damage from central to north Arkansas. Think I read somewhere once that the 'average' life of a T'storm is 90mins from 'build-up' to collapse. Think some seem longer'n that as they're kinda 'reborn' in the front or 'squall line' & are actually different storms. Guess this one wuz different as it didn't weaken even as it moved into southern Missouri?? Have friends up in the Bull Shoals/Gassville/Mountain Home area but haven't heard anything from them yet. Wuz a kinda 'tense' evening around here for a while!

Yowie, listening to the election results last night and heard about the terrible rash of tornadoes that sprang up, about 51!! Last count listed at least 14 dead and numerous injuries and loss of personal property. The reports said they were some of the strongest F winds ever recorded in those area. So sorry, and do hope our forum members are o.k.

Glad you posted up, Harvey. You two were the first thought I had when I saw the news of the storms. Glad to hear you missed the worst of it. I hope your friends are okay, too.

In the dead center of the state we had some high wind and heavy rain but not too much trouble. Just to the north of us is where it got bad. A friend of mine took some pictures of the Mountain View area, where his family lives.

I was in Mountain View around Christmas on a hiking trip. It is eerie to see what has happened there.

sounds like Arkansas is getting pounded again - flooding with water from southeast MO is washing away houses. Hope folks are safe
