That's only about 125 miles from me, if we are in the area at the time, we will stop by.

Might be able to stop by & say 'howdy'. Would come to stay a day or so but we're committed to the 25/26 weekend with kids, grandkids, & great grandkids at Shouse Ford on Lake DeGray. Might be able to get away for a day & visit Lake Ouachita SP. Been some time since we've been there. It's a nice park, you'll enjoy!

Ouachita is my favorite Arkansas Lake. My son will be home from LA and I am a volunteer at the National Youth Soccer Championships going on from the 23rd thru the 26th at Burns Park in North Little Rock. Maybe next time you come to Arkansas.

Here are a few pics of the trip – we were defiantly the smallest camper there.

We set up camp on Monday

Tuesday went to Hot springs for a tour

Wednesday: More Hot springs trip

Went by a wedding chapel to renew our vows. They wanted 150.00 bucks for the ceremony. It didn’t cost us that much the first time 24 yrs ago – so are some picts.

Thursday – boating on the lake

Well MJ and forum, this was our second trip to Lake Ouachita state park. Last year, we found this park after being so claustrophobic at the Crater of Diamonds (COD) State park and stayed there instead. Ever since it was featured on the discovery channel COD has been very popular and crowded. Lake Ouachita is one of the cleanest lakes in Arkansas and wasn’t very crowded when we went out. Most of the campsites are waterfront, so a quick dip is effortless. The Bath and restroom facilities are great. Every night during the summer months, the park staff have interesting programming available. Three sister’s springs is located in the park, known for it “healing powers” (Yeah, we brought back some) The park is very close to Hot Springs, just in case you might want some sight seeing or a wally world trip. Camp sites are spaced just about right and you can even reserve site specific. Would recommend
