41 Sites available as of 2/28/09

1. bg

Is anyone interested in a gathering at Purtis Creek in April?

I'm thinking the 17th-19th of April.

If there's enough interest, I can try and organize everything.

Homecoming indeed, Purtis Creek is the site of the first gathering held in TX. At least in the modern era. :D

Could you let me know if they've finished the bike trail system? I designed a lot of that trail and flagged about 1/2 of it. I'm curious if they ever got around to opening it up?

If so, I' will be making a trek up there soon to ride it.

A few people may remember this: The first Texas Teardrop gathering at Purtis.

Hey Julie, I believe the first gathering in Texas (that we know of) was in 04'.
Charles started the Coca Cola Teardrop in Dec 03 so 04'should be correct.

Looked up the old pictures and was surprised that Purtis Creek was 2005 the same year as the first ITG. I sure thought it was 2004 though. We sure have grown since then.

Lenny and I tented at that one, since our tear made its maiden voyage to Minden later in '05. Lenny thought of towing the frame and taping up our cardboard wall templates, but thought better of it. What a terrific bunch of friends we've met thru teardropping, and to think it all began at Purtis Creek! :D

Purtis Creek sounds great. It is a nice park, and it is right down the road. I don't know if I can finish my trailer in time, but I will try. I gues I need to make reservations!
