Yeaterday I spent the day at Lake Bistineau and am happy to report the lake is full and the weed [plant life] has been been cut back drastically with only a little around the edges and back in the pockets in some places. It will be good for kayaking and good fishing now. Looks better than in the last five years. My new "Lil Dinner" is almost ready to go camping, so Lake Bistineau here I come!!!!!!!!!!! Dulcimer man.

Hey B52, the gators were so happy to get their lake back that they sent a thank you card to the rangers office. I have a family reunion in the winnfield area out on the prison road in early June. I plan to camp one night at Gum Springs before going on to the reunion. Will have a fixed date later.

Does anyone know the Fishing License rules?

I know that Texas State Parks don't require a license to fish if you're camping there...

I wanna FISH! :)

I don't believe, you can fish for free...there is a $15/4day fee for non-residents...how ever, if you fish from one of the docks around the campground you would PROBABLY be safe to do so for "free"...you would be taking your chances...doubly so if you got out in a boat..........

Several years the state build a large prison on the road that my sister-in-law lives on. That is where the reunion will be on. I belive the road number is La. 477.

Well, I don't know why you would want to do a frozen embyro transfer (FET) in a boat but you better have a license if you do!

To all on their first trip to LCG.

This furry critter and his buddies will visit your camp site during the night.
So lock it up or loose it. Opening a closed ice chest is no problem for these little thieves.
