Just 2 weeks to go, so I guess it is time to think about food for the potluck. Just to get it started we are planning on:
Ed & Ruby-Swedish meatballs
James & Amy-green bean casserole and a desert to be decided on

We will bring sausage crockpot appetizer and an Onion Pie.
We will have wine and cheese at our site on Friday night after dinner. Ed can we do that in that park?..saw something about alcohol prohibited. Queenie Jeanne

Queenie Jeanne, All Texas parks have a ban, but as long as it is at the camp site and not bothering any one I do not think they watch it real close. I do believe that last year Tammi & Cindy were walking back to their camp site and were laughing & talking (in the daytime) and got stopped, questioned and strip searched (well they made Tammie expose her drink can from inside her can cover cooler thingie) lol it was a cola and they let them go. I was surprised about that and a person could pour anything into a coke can so why would they even do that? I have never seen them come to a camp site and check drinks. So as long as no one complains I do not think they will even notice. Ruby & Ed :cheerswine: :wine:

Every thing sounds good. We have the Frito Pies and BBQ sandwiches covered. Every one can bring their beverage of choice. :wine party: Just remember if the burn ban is still on ( and I think it will be) we can only use things that can be turned off, electric or propane etc. We are going out to the park Tomorrow or Saturday and may know more then. We will keep you guys posted if anything changes about the burn ban. If it should be rainy then we will try putting a couple or so easy ups together and party on. Or maybe just pass out rain ponchos.lol Ed & Ruby

So, your gonna do piña coladas, eh? I'll be glad to pitch in some supplies if you bring the blender.

I use Coco Lopez, Dole pineapple juice and dark rum -- is that what you use?

That is the one and only time I have seen a park ranger even ask about alcohol in Texas, even though it is officially not allowed. I drink from a cup and keep my "supplies" out of sight, and nobody has EVER bothered me.

Man, if our crew all gets nekkid, there won't be any need for a pot luck, as none of us will have an appetite after seeing each other nekkid. :?

I hope to stop through for a visit. I do want to point out that it's a state law about public display or consumption of alcoholic beverages. True of all Texas state parks.
Here's a link:
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/parkinfo/rules_and_regulations

59.134 Rules of Conduct:
(j) Alcoholic Beverages.
It is an offense to consume or display an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a public place or sell alcoholic beverages within a state park.
