CASHCOW all but FLOATED home last night. Got home around 2 am. We had planned on camping in those beautiful mountains one more night up around Bonito Lake, but it started raining, NO!!! Lets back up!! it started POURING :fb about halfway up that mountain, and we decided we could be home in about 5 hours. So, off we went. Thought we left the rain behind, but it seemed that everytime we had to stop to answer "natures call" the dang clouds caught up with us... :rainy: :rainy: :rainy:

Rained hard for most of the way! about twenty miles from home, it stopped....... Guess it was tired of chasing us...... anyway, hope all of yall had better weather to drive in.

Here are some of the pictures we took. If you havent ever been to White Sands, you should go see it....... WOW!!!

A huge thanks for those who worked so hard to put the gathering together. We had a great time and it was wonderful to visit with old friends and make new ones. We will certainly be fighting for one of the first spots next year......... :noyes: :noyes: OR should I say begging.... :worship: :worship:

Mike & Brenda, the pics were great, thanks! Sorry about the rain. We decided to drive straight through and had no problems. Pat left us at Oklahoma City and headed on to Arkansas. We enjoyed traveling with him.
We tried to get everything packed on Saturday evening in case of rain, and sheltered in the MINI's until morning. Our buddy Morgan helped us fold up the shelters, thanks Morgan.

The only problem now is the next gathering seems so far away. I don't like the packing and unpacking but yet I am always ready to do it.

Glad everyone made it home ok. We drove streight thru to Phoenix. We didn't want to stop over nite as everywhere was over 100. It was 108 when we got home and we wanted to go back to Cloudcroft for the rest of the summer. Made a lot of new friends and are looking forward to next year.

Mike & Brenda,
Thanks for the pics of White Sands! I was thinking of driving down there, but didn't get around to it. Glad you made it home safe with all the rain. Hope to share a campfire with you again sometime.

Charles and I would like to thank all of you for joining us in Cloudcroft.
We had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending time with old friends and making new ones.

The weather was great. Some of us wore long sleeves or jackets in the shade and evenings. Even with a little rain the weekend was super. We were glad there were no fire restrictions and this allowed campfires.

Gary and Trudy did another awsome job with Saturday's breakfast.
There was more than enough food (as usual) at the potluck supper on Saturday.

Everyone seems to have enjoyed the area. There was plenty to do. Some folks made it down to Alamagordo and White Sands while others checked out the shops and General Store in Cloudcroft. Others made their way up to Ruidoso for some shopping and gambling. Then we all enjoyed visiting in the evenings.

It sounds like everyone wants to do this again next year.
We will check into reserving the lower fir and upper fir group areas so we can have room for more. I'll have to check and see what weekend in July both areas are open.

I'll get my pictures up tomorrow or as soon as I find my cord to hook up my camera to the computer.

We didn't get into any rain on the way home as some folks did.

Thank goodness it didn't take us as long to get home as it did to get there. No C clamps were need on the way home either

We missed those that did not get to make the trip: Dave and Cindy, Danny and Suzanne, Larry and Macy , Gage and Tanya and all of you that just couldn't make it.

Morgan had a friend to hang out with but I think he missed Danny and Glen.

Sorry, I didn't intend to write a book but just wanted to share the great time we all had.

Linda and Charles

I've been out of town for a week, but I wanted to thank everyone for allowing me to stop by for an afternoon, look at your trailers, take pictures, and chat with folks. I had a nice time and met some wonderful folks. Maybe next time I can actually attend the gathering and hang around for a couple of days. Thanks again.
