Lenora & I (& Jake the 'wonder pup') made it home this evening after a 'marathon' drive from Kykotsmovi village in Arizona. Wuz gonna spend last night at Ute Lake State Park in eastern New Mexico but when we got there the wind was 30mph or better & temps over 100 degrees. Felt just like a blast furnace so we kept driving 'til it cooled down (relatively  ) just over into Oklahoma around 11PM. Spent the night at a rest area (yeah, I know that ain't the ideal thing but a 700 mile day is like 3 days for me :R ) & got rolling again this morning around 7:15. Got a call from the D.I.L. when we were nearing the Oklahoma/Arkansas border than she'd rear ended another vehicle while driving Lenora's car so we opted to drive on home rather than spend another night on the road. Had a great trip & enjoyed the gathering immensely. I'll post a group pic here along with a link to some more pix. Glad everyone made it home safely. I'm gonna rest for a day or three after that drive ;)

Gary and I finally got home Thursday evening. Went up to Sante Fe and Taos for a couple days. got hit by a NM monsoon while touring the old Indian reservation  I think it was a sign of things to come. We then went up to Bishops Castle up by Pueblo CO. Gary and I had visited that place about 8 years ago and were curious how much progress had been made. If you ever get to visit the place, it is amazing. Then we headed home. Friday morning got hit by blast front winds and 3 inches of rain ... made a mess of our garden and branches all over the yard. Gary spent the day cutting up trees at his sons in Richmond which got hit a lot worse. We have an earth contact house and went to go down in the mini-basement last night and some of the sheetrock and insulation had fallen down during the winds, I guess, so we have a nice unexpected weekend project.

As always it was a great time with old friends and many new ones. Cant wait to camp with you all again real soon. Trudy

Nice pics Harvey, thanks for posting the link! Sorry we missed it, been so busy with work, haven't been out at all yet this year! :(

Jake the Wonder Dog, looking good. How old is he?

Sorry to hear about the car, as long as everyone is ok, that's the important thing.

Again, thanks for sharing.

He'll be 12wks old tomorrow Earl. He's a Mountain Feist & darn near as 'hard headed' as a JRT. His parents are top notch squirrel dogs & I'm hopin' he will be as well. Lookin' forward to seeing you guys at a gathering soon.
