Tulsa and OKC folks .. you ok??? storms

Postby oklahomajewel » Thu Jul 16, 2009 9:41 pm

Well, my 'burb is s.e. of OKC and we got hit by BAD winds and hail this evening, I wasn't home. My trailer is fine but we've been without power since about 5 pm and tree limbs down ALL over the place. A neighbor across the street had a tree split and fall... I was across town at the time but now at a friends snagging the net.,

Hope Tulsa / east OK folks are doing okay and didn't get bad winds like us!

I'm still camping this weekend ! !

Julie,
Glad to hear that you are OK. Will say a prayer that everyone else in your area is fine as well.

I'm talking to my brother on the phone right now, he says he hasn't seen any rain or wind tonight. He's in Broken Arrow. They did have thunder & lightening last night though.

Looks like the weather is starting to fire back up Southeast of OKC right now and heading south southeast direction. I hope all fair well over the period of weather. We just had lighting and some rain and a little wing this morning and under warning this afternoon. :worship:

It got cloudy here this evening, but no rain or storms. If we get it, it will be overnight. We are usually just a few hours behind you on weather systems.

My car and TD are in the garage, and I am going to bed. If I am still around, I'll post up in the morning.

We are fine here in Tulsa. Had a lot of warnings and some lighting and thunder but that is about all. It rained during the night but no wind or hail and our house. I hear it got a little bad in the Tulsa area. We are closer to Catoosa, east of Tulsa. Hope everyone else is o.k.

Good to hear , y'all...

Well, it's 1 am and my power is still out , but the other side of the street (on a different grid) has lights back on so I have figured out where I'm snatching some free wifi! haha I thought it was the neighbor right next to me but apparently the couple across the street!

Power is still out, windows open and it's muggy muggy muggy outside and NO breeze. But you know... I'm a camping chick.. Gave the battery fan to the older man next door, got out some candles, the flashlight. Took the led camp lantern over to the neighbor too .
Have not opened the freezer or fridge,, well , just to get some of those frozen blocks out and set next to the milk and lunchmeat.

It's been pouring rain again and lightning a bunch.

As you can tell, I'm still up ... hard to sleep when it's so stuffy hot !!!

I'm alright though.

Glad to hear that everyone is ok. Oklahoma City had quite a bit of damage. Wouldn't you know it, we got around and got all the vehicles put underneath some cover, and we didn't get any hail, hardly any rain. Happens every time we go to any trouble.

Well, it's Monday and back from camping.... while out there , found that my vent cover on my roof does have 2 dime sized holes and a small crack. The rain diverters over the doors have lots of dings ... but no hail dings on the tongue box or fenders... good!
