...some updates and thoughts...
first, Tshirts...it looks as if we won't do T's again this year...I have way too much on my plate to doit and Bobby(bg) volunteered but he has run afoul of his schedule and is unable to get the T's together at this time...with the time left it would be very hard to get it all together...all I can say is next year will be the fifth LCG and I WILL have special T's made just for the anniversary...

second, Friday night dinner...in the past, I have provided a Cajun oriented Fri dinner for everyone...this year, due to my recent surgery, I am afraid I can't do so this year for financial(new hips are expensive) and other reasons...unless I can turn up a co-sponsor(hey Eddielbs) for this dinner or get the ingredients donated, it is a no go for me at this time...

third, Sat nights after dinner dance and wine tasting party...last year Cindy was the organizing force for an ABSOLUTELY great dance party, complete with break dancing preachers and flying balloons(ya shoulda been there)...sooooooo, is this going on again(I hope)...Cindy...Danny...anyone...Julie, are you planning on doing anything similar to what you did last year...as you all should know by now, I am not into a big super organized event...it's my birthday campout and I just wanna relax and have some fun...if anyone would want to have a specific event or happening, they are welcome to organize it...

fourth, the Park management and staff have been absolutely wonderful to us, allowing us to pretty much take over the park and do whatever we wanted so keep this mind when dealing with them and put your bestest TD face forward...at this point, I don't know if there will be water on the Lake or not(I sure hope so) due to their ongoing fight with the giant Salvinia(grass)problem in the lake...I will try and find out if there will be water or not for those who would like to kayak the lake...

fifth, in the past we have had a halloween decorating contest...I do hope and urge everone to participate again this year, the sites look so good all decorated up and of course, a trophy will be given for best site and I bet it just might be a different winner this year(maybe).....

sixth, OMG, y'all just don't know how much I am looking forward to this campout...it will be soooooooooo good to be able to wander around the campground, following the little animals, so BYOB and your party shoes and be prepared to party hearty...........

Laissez les Bon Tears Roulet...AAAIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Tshirts.... was a logo ever designed? It's not mandatory , but even a one color design is cool with me. I'll ask around ...

Fri night dinner ..... people come in at different times on Friday , some even early ... it's kinda nice for those that come in late afternoon to have some food already ready... Maybe some of us could have stews /taco soup and cornbread ready? Or just some burgers or something?

Sat night lights .... Yes, me and Cindy were talking about it again... I have some new music and whatever... The wine tasting (sharing) seemed to be a hit. I'll ask Cindy about it. Jack, aren't you dancing this time?

Halloween decorations.... correct me if I'm wrong , Linda. I think Linda Smelley said this year she'd still decorate but not be in the running for the prize. I'll likely decorate but not be considered for the prize either . Since we're both past winners. It's too neat to see everybody's creations!

Sometimes we even have trick or treaters and I think the locals like to come see us !

First - I have a couple of shirt contacts from my car show days. I'll do some checking also.

Sixth - Can't wait for the gathering and seeing everyone again. IMO this is the event of the year for teardroppers.

Thanks again Jack and crew!

...yep the original purpose of the Friday night feed was so folks arriving on Fri wouldn't havvta worry about cooking anything for supper plus, it was my way to say THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to help me celebrate my birthday and to give a taste of world famous Cajun Cuisine ...the first LCG, we fed around 50 folks on Fri but things have GROWN so much since then, it has become an expensive meal...if anyone(or several anyones) would like to donate around 50+ pounds of shrimp and or 10-20 pounds of oysters or crawfish meat I would be happy to cook up a killer seafood gumbo for Fri...how about some of you from south La or SE Tx that have direct access to the shrimpers check on prices/availabilty............

...the closest we have to a logo is this one from Bobby, which is on his LCG site...

...a little tweaking and it would make an acceptable logo...however, let me say, after having done this twice, time is short to organize, collect monies and get it all organized and done............

I would gladly donate cash and volunteer to help for some gumbo on Friday night. I don't want to put you on the spot MJ but if you are serious about cooking I'd be more than happy to donate, I'm sure many others would also.

The State Wine Tasting is definitely on ... I have bottles packed and ready to go! If shoulder allows ... Gary and I will be back up doing the Electric Slide at least !!!

We have to have our cajun dinner on Friday night ... Gary and I will lend a helping hand / $$ / whatever it takes. We plan on getting there Thursday and leave on Monday ... a day doesnt go by we arent talking about the trip. Got a lot of new Halloween decorations.

T-shirts would be nice ... but the least of the wants that we have for the weekend. 1. Being with friends 2. Cooking 3. Eating / drinking
4. Resting 5. Souvenirs

According to the Lake Bistineau Salvinia page, it sounds like little progress is being made and that a drawdown is planned starting Sept. 8. I guess my kayaks won't be making the trip. :(
