Well maybe he will have less leakage problems than me!
All in all last night and this morning was ok and fun, Sharon, yes I had a friend with me so we had fun, although camping "fun" consisted of pulling in, and jumping in the camper, period, that was it until we left. Gotta love that too tho. No setup, didn't even plug in the power, and everything was fine (duh, it's camping right!). This is me coming home and caught a break in the rain for a few min.
I think rain is an understatement, I didn't realize we were in for a 10 hour monsoon! We got hammered, then pitter patted, then hammered over and over all night until our spot was flooded, it just stopped raining a few hours ago, and the only time we got out was to go to the bathroom. The bathroom was one super nice saving grace because I booked a non-specific site and they assigned us a site right NEXT DOOR to the bathroom! Normally this would not be wonderful but it could not by any more ideal last night. So we had a pretty good night, and was lucky she brought her laptop with an aircard and I won a new camera on eBay last night which was cool. We did get a little stir crazy not being able to get out at all tho.
That's the good news.
I was mainly concerned about my doors leaking, but there was not a drop, they both sealed great. Unfortunately when we hopped in, my TV that I had laying on the bed for the trip had water on it. It was right under the roof vent. I pulled back the plastic trim a tad and water dumped out! dam. Well, luckily I had my huge really heavy canvas Army tarp with me that I have been using as a sub shade for the moon roof and I tossed it up there to cover the whole roof even when doubled over. It blew over a little bit just one time and I spinned it around so the fold was on the wind side and it stayed put the rest of the night with no strapping down (whew luckily). So it appears that my seal for the roof vent is not too good although I thought it was. So I'll need to reseal it... we'll see how it goes, I am not too worried about THAT one.
I have bigger fish to fry, or should I say cry about...
OK This is me not remembering to put some sealed plugs or just plain seal the dang holes that I haven't covered in trim yet, apparantly that 64th of an inch was enough to let water in, thanks alot Thomas!
This next one is the worst thing to see and I don't understand it, the face has three coats of Helmsman Poly, and the end grain has 2-3 coats of cpes, can't remember for sure. Apparantly not enough because here is what we have, top side is the same. We were getting slapped hard with rain all night on this side of the teardrop, so that had ALOT to do with it, because the other side is just pretty much perfect which is amazing to me. I am just letting it dry out as best it can in this 100% humidity and hoping for the best. Any suggestions are welcome, and moderators if you feel this is better for General Discussion or whatever please feel free to relocate.
