LCGIV the NUCLEAR OPTION

...things are not looking good at Lake Bistineau...even if water stops rising it may be a day or three before it falls back out...so, we need a plan N for NUCLEAR...depending on what it looks like tomorrow might I suggest a change of venue...Lake Claiborne State Park http://www.crt.state.la.us/Parks/iclaiborn.aspx it is located about as far North of Minden/I-20 as Bistineau is South...there wouldn't be much difference in milage for those coming in from the West, may be a bit closer for those coming from North or East...the park is nice, with 80 someodd sites which are a bit more spread out than Bistineau...think about it...post your thoughts...I will see what RangerDavid can do for us tomorrow and see what kinda vacancies Claiborne has....if we make a decision to do this tomorrow, we can pull the trigger and get word to most before it is time to leave and BistineauSP can direct any who are missed to head that way...let me know soonest what you think...........

Awww.. thanks for checking MJ ...

I can't remember myself if I paid for xx nights at Bistineau , and don't know if I could afford to lose that money and pay for elsewhere...

but we'll see :(

...if the park is closed, THEY OWE all of us a refund, I am hoping we can just transfer our reservations over to Claiborne...if the StateParks like us as much as they claim, they need to step up and accommodate us...THAT is what I will be checking on...I don't wanna go anywhere else...but if the water does not go down off the road, we cannot even get to the overflow/rally area...so we need a plan which does not include staying at a WalMart parking lot and Claiborne would fit that requirement.....

If thats what we need to do, lets do it, The fellowship is the important part, location is secondary.

We gotta do what we gotta do. I'm going to LCG4 no matter what.

I do worry about a lot of people bailing out. That would suck. But, I did not work hard to get my TD ready, and make all those nametags (and pay for them), just to chicken out over some water.

Besides, I bought into that gumbo, too, and I darn well plan on eating a couple of bowls.

Keep us posted, but I'm in no matter what.

Jack you call it the way you see it. Just post GPS coordinates and a map; we will arrive. ;)

I can see Walmart parking lot with 120 trailers camping. Tell-em to stock-up at Wally World. 8)

I hope the water abates the campgrounds. :worship:

Now where is that DUCK !
