I really would love to be in Cloudcroft that week, but it is highly unlikely I'll be able to afford that this year.

So, I'm wondering about a close-to-home gathering near a good fireworks show.

Any thoughts?

There has got to be a park that will be in view of some fireworks goin on. I think alot of people might have stuff goin of with non-teardropper friends that night but I bet if a good location can be found we'd get some takers. Give me a chance to work out that air conditioner! :fan:

the City of Duncanville has always had a nice fireworks show. Could camp at Cedar Hill and go see the fireworks.

If anyone's interested, how about a small gathering here at the house? Not sure if the city is having a fireworks show, but if they are it's normally viewable from the house.

I have to spend some time re-hydrating before I decide on a July campout. This weekend was brutal. :sweaty:

CD

I am shooting a wedding July 4th so that night is out for me now too, but I think I am done camping until the two Sept gigs, Loyd Park and Pickin in the Pines, just too hot during the daytime for me.

I might camp one night sometime in the next two months if I arrive at sundown and leave at dawn

You guys have been to Lake Murray, right? They have a really good fireworks show there. You can see it from all over the park, or go to the main viewing area and enjoy live music and refreshments.

You know, good idea! But campgrounds get booked solid on holiday weekends. Maybe the RV campground at WinStar ? haha

I'm not sure about the RV sites...but I had no problems getting into tent areas.
