Need a spot around Fayetteville AR

Ok South Central folks – need some info. We are planning a trip up to northwest Arkansas around Fayetteville. More specifically, we are going to Prairie Grove State Park battleground for the re-enactment in December. We are planning to take the ladybug – so we’re looking for a suitable RV park to stay in. Devil’s Den SP is close, but we’ve been there countless times and are looking for someplace new and closer – Any suggestions?

For just an RV park type of deal, The GF and I always stay at Terra Studios for BB&BBQ. It's quiet, and they have showers, electricity, and eats across the street. Kind of an artsy funky place.

I don't know what they charge for rv spots, cause I can't strap the tear to the handle bars of my motorcycle.

I'll be watching this thread to get new Ideas though. Terra is starting to get crowded during BB&B.

You may want to look at Lake Fort Smith State Park. It has been about 10 years since I've been there, but it is a nice little state park.

You might try a look at Mt Magazine SP near Paris , AR there is a smaller park down the same hwy AR 109 North at the bottom of the mountain called Cove Lake Park where Cove Lake just south of Pair, AR ( I have not stayed there in years - but it would be a change from the high top campground 2500 feet above of Mt Magazine SP ) where it is located. Just follow the links to the respective sites.

In December? Re-enactment? Ok so your action is around Westville. .....Wedington Lake on 16 West of Fayetteville or Withrow Springs East of Fayetteville just off 412. Wedington has a lot of off road trails, so is big on the four wheel crowd but in December I wouldn't worry about them I would be concerned with open/close issue. Withrow got hit hard last year by the ice storm and may still be closed. December is hard. Into Oklahoma on 412 West of Siloam Springs OK is Natural Falls, further north but still would be doable, I think. Queenie Jeanne

Scott, take a look at Lake Wedington in Ozark-St. Francis Nat. Forest. It's 13 mi.west of Fayetteville.

You know that link was great, I should get smarter quicker and do stuff like that for folks.......the part I am shocked about is NO PETS ALLOWED. We make take a trip that way between now and BB, Scott and check it out.....some of the places that had Ice are still really in bad shape, but in December it won't matter. I don't think there are utility hookups at Lake Wedington, and you might want them in December.

City of Elkins is currently adding electricity, water & sewer to Bunch Park for RV's. I know they have a facebook page you can visit. They mentioned having them finished in July, I think.
