Anyone want to camp with del and the Jelly Belly on June 19?

Postby caseydog » Tue Jun 01, 2010 4:54 pm

The one, the only del, and his famous Jelly Belly TD are coming through town, and Loyd Park is along his path. Any DFW regulars interested in camping Saturday, June 19th?

I know Meridian SP is the week before that, but space is tight there, and a lot of folks are not going to that one, so here's another chance to camp in June.

CD, I have to work that weekend but if you & Del camp at Loyd Park we will come by for a visit. We would like to see Del again. Pick a couple of spots with lots of shade.

Wish we could Glenn, however, I'll be on a flight coming back from Korea on the 19th. Would have liked to have met Del and see the Jelly Belly. Take lots of pics for those of us that can't be there.

Just posted to del's thread, sorry. I am interested but not sure yet as I have a couple concerts to go to which is tapping me, but that weekend is open for me. I would love to see the Jelly Belly though so I plan on being there~

Our first official gathering was in November or December of 2007 in Nevada Missouri. We arrived late Friday night around 11 PM. I'll never forget the headlights turning into the camp area and seeing the Jelly Belly trailer. It was all I could do to not pound on the door and wake him up. What a great guy and what a really neat neat trailer. We will not be able to attend but hope several folks make the effort to meet Del and see the Jelly Belly trailer.

I just noticed that it is really nice camping weather tonight. I hope it is the same in a couple weeks! Hot in the day of course, but the night was pleasant!~

It is supposed to get really hot for the next five days, and then back to more typical june temperatures.

I just tried to reserve campsites, but they only do that on weekdays. So, I'll call them again on Monday morning.

It looks like I need three sites, so far. Anyone else?

OK CD has stepped up to host this event! :applause:

CD will be reserving three sites for Del, myself and himself on Friday due to advice from the park staff due to availability concerns. So this has turned into a full on two day weekend. I plan to take the truck and teardrop to work with me and head straight from work to the park and should be there around 7-7:30pm Friday depending on traffic and how busy the store is on the way. CD has graciously offered to pay for my (and Del's) friday night stay to ensure we get spots together, in turn I am going to bring enough firewood for both nights. Oh and CD, I think I will pick up a 12 pack of those chicken legs you like to grill up too in addition to the brats I am bringing, that should take care of two out of three meals, bring your grille and I will bring mine and we will trade off with whichever campsite we happen to be standing at.
Oh and I have a free full big bag of good charcoal for you too that I will bring. I sold my charcoal grill and it is new and unopened. Happy B-day ;)

Friday night: CD and I will debate random meaningless topics and beat each other senseless and drink ourselves into a stupor until we pass out on top of each other in a hulking bloody mess, could be a fun show.
Or we might just grille and drink.

Saturday morning: Tentative plan is to take a trek out onto the water in my new boat where we will both resist the urge to push each other over the side while gaining the woos of the female locals with the massiveness and agility of the seafaring vessel. I am thinking I will retreat to the teardrop for the heat of the day, alternating with baking in the sun in my hammock.

Saturday Afternoon/Evening: Del will show up, as well as many other welcome friends who come to visit for a breezy comfortable evening.

So that is the plan so far as I know it. C'mon down and say hello Saturday when the sun begins to set, and the temperature falls folks!

My wife would like to look at these wacky trailers before committing, and by that I mean committing me to the insane asylum. I was wondering if we could come by and look at your TD's both outside and inside?
